B. Shinn, the rider of RELEASE ME, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a), the careless riding being that near the 1000m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of FELINE HUNTER (B. Stewart), forcing that horse in and taking the running of APERCU (D. Beadman), which was tightened for room between FELINE HUNTER and ENCOSTA TSZYU (S. Scriven), resulting in APERCU having to be checked and losing its rightful position. B. Shinn’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 meetings, with the term of suspension to commence at midnight on 26 May, following the expiration of B. Shinn’s Sydney suspension, and to be served concurrently with the 12 meeting suspension imposed on B. Shinn in Race 8, which will expire at midnight on Saturday, 16 June 2007. In addition, B. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of PRINCE VILHELM, jockey M. Cahill stated that after being a little slow to begin, in his opinion the horse may have lost concentration and was reluctant to gallop. He added that as this was only PRINCE VILHELM’s third race start, the horse has never raced back in the field. Trainer D. Forster was of the same opinion as jockey M. Cahill and she undertook to advise stewards in the days subsequent if anything comes to light which may have had an effect on the horse’s performance.

Byrne), which initially after shifting in was unable to relieve the pressure due to IN MY SIGHTS taking up a position to the outside of that horse. As the stewards could not be completely satisfied that jockey Byrne contributed fully to the interference, he was given the benefit of the doubt.
