PEACE AN QUIET and SINFUL WARRIOR raced wide throughout the event.
Mr Ian Slater representing trainer R. Bradshaw was advised that PRINCE TELESTO, which compounded badly over the final 500m, would be ineligible to compete on a metropolitan track until it can establish some competitive form in the provincial area.
Trainer K. Schweida reported that following the performance of WIN A MILLION today he would have blood tests carried out in the coming days and report to stewards the findings of these tests.

SLYSERA was very fractious in the mounting yard and proved difficult to get to parade out onto the track. Trainer R. Macrae advised that he would recommend to connections that the gelding now be spelled. Stewards advised him that SLYSERA would have to compete satisfactorily in a barrier trial prior to racing again. P. Wolfgram was issued with a reprimand under the provisions of AR137A(3) for unnecessary use of his whip on SLYSERA in the mounting yard. When assessing this matter stewards took into account P. Wolfgram’s exemplary record over a long period.
DOUG’S JET (App B. Looker) was slow to begin.
A short distance after the start REGENCY ROYALE (App M. Hellyer) was tightened for room between PUNCH ON (R. McMahon) and EASY SUCCESSFUL (L. Cassidy), which shifted in.
WEONA DAZZLER (A. Spinks) and DOUG’S JET both overraced in the early stages of the event.
Near the 800m JACK ‘N’ ME (K. Wharton) made contact with the running rail when tightened for room by INTERNAL REVENUE (J. Byrne), which when inclined to overrace was taken in slightly by LET IT LOOSE (N. Thomas), which shifted in when not quite clear, after that runner was taken in slightly by EASY SUCCESSFUL. Both L. Cassidy (EASY SUCCESSFUL) and N. Thomas (LET IT LOOSE) were advised to at all times to afford their fellow riders sufficient room when shifting ground. Following this incident INTERNAL REVENUE shifted out slightly resulting in CHEW THE FAT (G. Colless) having to be eased when tightened for room between that runner and SLYSERA (P. Wolfgram), which shifted in. PUNCH ON which was following also had to be restrained in this incident.

CHEW THE FAT and REGENCY ROYALE raced 3 wide throughout the event.

Byrne stated that after being steadied near the 800m when tightened for room INTERNAL REVENUE travelled keenly and passing the 500m he shifted out slightly and bumped CHEW THE FAT on a number of occasions. J. Byrne added that following this INTERNAL REVENUE had a tendency to hang out and at the entrance to the home straight had to be steadied when it hung out across the heels of CHEW THE FAT. Following this INTERNAL REVENUE did take sometime to become balanced under the big weight and over the final 300m INTERNAL REVENUE worked to the line well. A post race veterinary examination of INTERNAL REVENUE revealed no significant findings.

Geran stated that INVENTORY travelled comfortably and was held up in the early stages of the home straight and after securing clear running from that point INVENTORY failed to finish the race off as expected. G. Geran added that INVENTORY was stepping up in class today and in his opinion is better suited to rain affected tracks. A post race veterinary examination of INVENTORY revealed no significant findings.

Seamer stated that the gelding was forced to race 3 wide in the early and middle stages before being ridden forward to obtain a leading position near the 900m. S. Seamer further stated that SHINING BULLET was under heavy pressure rounding the home turn and in his view would be better suited dropping back in class. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

Hellyer), resulting in ELUSIVE PORT having to be checked to avoid the heels of STARTSMEUP. J. Fry’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of seven (7) meetings to commence midnight 6 August 2011 and expire midnight 19 August 2011.

When GREAT MAN commenced to tire leaving the 500m NAYNAY and BLOW A KISS , which were trailing, had to be checked and lost considerable ground. A short distance later GREAT MAN, after receiving minor contact with BOOTOOLOO (R. McMahon), shifted out taking TOPTWO onto LANDUNCAN (L. Cassidy), which had to be steadied. T. Bell (MISS CUTIE) was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift out near the 300m resulting in GREAT MAN having to be steadied. L. Cassidy added that after sustaining interference on 2 occasions rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight the gelding seemed to lose confidence and did not quicken under his riding from that point.
