Race 1: UNIFORM MANAGEMENT SERVICES F&M 1MW H’CAP - 1200m

As R. Wiggins was to be overweight, C. Munce was substituted as the rider of LITTLE MISS SMILEY. R. Wiggins was fined $200.

TAMBO’S JEWEL – Rider D. Browne was unable to explain the horse’s disappointing performance. Trainer S. Kendrick likewise was extremely disappointed with the horse’s performance and could only put forward that on previous occasions the horse has resented racing inside other runners after drawing an inside barrier.

KALANDULA – Slow to begin. Commenced to overrace and got its head up making the first turn.

ROYAL CONSORT – Tightened when racing in restricted room near the 600m.

LITTLE MISS SMILEY – Tightened when racing in restricted room near the 600m.

LONDON FAIRY – Raced three wide without cover.


Race 2: RAY WHITE SONYA TRELOAR OPEN H’CAP - 2200m

BOREHOLE – Dwelt at the start.

Race 3: MADISON CLEANING & PAINTING SERVICES CLASS 6 PLATE - 1640m

VENTURE ON – Overraced making the first turn and got its head up on a number of occasions. Overraced in the middle stages.

OAK ‘N’ ARTHUR – Was awkwardly placed close to heels when racing keenly approaching the first turn. Forced three wide from the 1000m.

POWERFUL JET – Overraced in the middle stages.

TERONADO – Slow to begin.

HARBOR SPRINGS – Slow to begin.

Race 4: PURE JALI C,G&E 1MW H’CAP - 1200m

JEFFERSON PARK – Apprentice B. Grylls reported that when the pace steadied after passing the 800m her mount commenced to pull hard, shifted out and was checked away from heels. Underwent veterinary examination post-race and found to be lame in the off foreleg with a laceration above the knee. Trainer C. Martin was advised that he will be required to produce a veterinary clearance for the horse prior to its next start.

LYRIC – Steadied and shifted out after passing the 800m.

GUN CASE – Rider G. Colless could offer no excuse for the horse’s performance, adding that it had travelled well but failed to finish the race off as expected. A swab sample was taken.

JET DOWN ON IT – Badly held up after being disappointed for a run approaching the 200m, and thereafter was unable to obtain clear running and went to the line untested.

MISHANI GLADIATOR – Steadied when awkwardly placed at heels near the 900m.

TENACIOUS JACK – Steadied and altered course when disappointed for a run at the 200m and thereafter was unable to be tested.

Race 5: BOSTON SALON QTIS 3YO H’CAP – 1200m

CELESTIAL DRAGON – Connections advised that the gelding, which usually races in tips, would race in normal race plates today. Underwent post-race veterinary examination and found to be lame in the near hind leg. Trainer S. Kendrick was advised that he will be required to produce a veterinary clearance for the horse prior to its next start.

LUCKY TOM – Raced three wide and then four wide from the 600m. Hung in very badly under pressure in the home straight, resulting in its rider having to stop riding and straighten on a number of occasions.

UPSTART PRIDE – Fractious in the barriers, removed from its stall, examined by the veterinary surgeon and declared fit to start. Bumped another runner approaching the 100m.

COMBATANT – Badly held up on heels inside the 100m.

SUZY’S BOY – Slow into stride.

MELANYA – Bumped another runner approaching the 100m.

FIRE WITHIN – Overraced badly making the first turn and was awkward at heels.

ROCKLEIGH – Slow into stride.

Race 6: BRAND AND SLATER ARCHITECTS BM80 H’CAP - 1350m

CASH ‘N’ STYLE was a late scratching at 7.52 am for veterinary reasons.

ROCK HOME LATE – Inconvenienced when crowded shortly after the start. Shifted out abruptly when awkward at heels near the 700m.

HEZA JETSETTER – Slow to begin. For some distance inside the final 200m had difficulty securing clear running before finishing off well.

ONGOING VENTURE – Inconvenienced near the 700m and steadied to avoid heels. Inconvenienced slightly near the 400m when weakening.

HAMPDEN – Raced three wide throughout.

AVALANCHES – Examined post-race by the veterinary surgeon who reported no significant findings.

WRITTEN ABOVE ALL – Began awkwardly and blundered.

Race 7: PROGRAMMED PROPERTY SERVICES 0MW H’CAP - 1020m

DR BARNARD – Lost ground at the start after standing awkwardly in the gates. Had difficulty securing clear running inside the final 200m, was then held up from the 100m and went to the line untested.

SEQUILLIAN – The veterinary surgeon reported that the horse exhibited a cough post-race.

THINKHESAURUS – Raced three wide.

THE RIGHT ONE – For some distance after the 600m, bumped with another runner on a number of occasions.

GOJO MIMO – Raced three wide.

THE BLACK FERRI – Began very awkwardly and lost considerable ground.

PURCHASED – For some distance after the 600m, bumped with another runner on a number of occasions.

IRRESISTIBLE ME – Steadied away from heels rounding the first turn.


Race 8: BARRY NILSSON LAWYERS OPEN H’CAP - 1110m

GUNDY SON – Slow to begin. Had difficulty securing clear running inside the final 200m.

THEFT – Raced wide throughout.

THE STOREMAN – Raced wide throughout.

G’DAY OLD MATE – Had difficulty securing clear running inside the final 100m.

FINAL CRESCENDO – Slow to begin. Hung out from the 800m.
