Jockey J. Byrne was examined by the club doctor and cleared to fulfil engagements today.

Race 1: Breakfast Creek Hotel QTIS 2yo H'cap – 1050m
SPUR FORTUNE – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Hung out making the first turn and trailed the field for the remainder of the race. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Connections advised that the horse would now be gelded. Stewards informed connections that the horse must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
LE CHEF – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
WICKED INTENT – Rider C. Munce pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that near the 900m he permitted his mount to shift in when not fully clear of MATILDARE, resulting in L. Cassidy having to take hold of that horse to avoid heels and be taken in on to MEET GEORGE JETSON, which was tightened against the running rail. C. Munce was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 6 meetings, to commence at midnight, 30 November and to expire at midnight, 12 December.
MATILDARE – Rider forced to take hold when tightened for room and lost ground approaching the first turn.
MISHANI HONCHO – Raced greenly in the early and middle stages.
SAILOR GERRI – Inclined to lay out under pressure in the straight. Raced wide without cover.
MEET GEORGE JETSON – A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be shin sore and lame in the off foreleg. Trainer J. McLachlan advised the horse would be sent for an immediate spell.
Race 2: Global Transport Insurance Open H'cap – 2200m
BINGO ROSE – Cast its off fore plate in running.
AMEXED – Inquiry into disappointing performance. Rider J. Byrne stated the gelding travelled well in the early and middle stages, however once placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. Trainer advised it will now be spelled. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
Race 3: Parnell Partners Group One Metro Win H'cap – 1630m
MIGHTY SUI – Declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 9.28 am.
OLD FEELING – Trainer J. Morrissey was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time. Pulled hard approaching the 900m and shifted out to improve from behind heels. Bled during event. Connections were advised the horse would be barred from racing for a period of 3 months.
LITTLE BIT DITSY – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. Bumped by another runner and became unbalanced passing the 400m. Rider M. Cahill was unable to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance. Lost off fore plate in running
HOW FAIRDINKUM – Checked to avoid heels near the 900m.
HOME TO THE BRIDE – Held up in the straight until the 200m.
TRAGEDY – Raced wide without cover.
Race 4: Hardy Brothers Jewellers QTIS 3yo H'cap - 1110m
BOLD ATTRACTION – Trainer G. Taylor was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider by the for the horse by the prescribed time. Held up after leaving the 300m and did not obtain clear running until the 200m. Held up over the concluding stages.
LUPO NERO – Broke through the barriers prior to the start, however was quickly restrained, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Briefly tightened for room approaching the first turn. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have been galloped on on the off hind leg.
VIENNA ROYALE – Lunged forward in the barriers prior the start. Examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Shortly after entering the straight attempted to shift out from behind the heels of another runner, however was prevented from doing so, and then was held up until inside the 200m. Then steadied off heels approaching the winning post.
HAKKASAN – Jumped away awkwardly. Inclined to hang in in the early stages.
I’M CHILLIN’ – Following the event, trainer D. Forster reported the horse had sustained an abrasion to the near-side eye.
Race 5: Brian Ogilvie Memorial Class 6 Plate – 1350m
COMACINA – Got its head up and raced ungenerously when being restrained off heels after leaving the 1000m. Obliged to alter course from heels approaching the 100m and then shifted in and made heavy contact with the hind quarters of another runner.
ABADDON – Inclined to hang out after leaving the 600m. Then continued to hang out in the straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the near hind leg, and exhibiting yellow nasal discharge. Trainer P. Duncan will be interviewed regarding the horse’s performance
CASUAL CHOICE – Inconvenienced when bumped by another runner near the 150m.
ROMANARMA – Shifted out under pressure and bumped another runner near the 150m. Raced wide without cover.
MY QUILTER – Bumped heavily approaching the 100m. Apprentice S. Payne was fined $500 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
Race 6: Travel Associates Classic F & M Plate – 1200m
PRETTYFAMOUS – Kicked out with its near hindleg in the tie-up stalls. Examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.
BREAKFAST IN BED – Restless in the barriers and jumped away awkwardly. Bumped on the home turn.
TARLOSHAN – Slow to begin. Shifted out approaching the home turn and made contact with another runner.
BROOK ROAD – Jumped away awkwardly.
ELUSIVE STORM – Pulled hard in the middle stages.
MISS STASH – Shifted out on the home turn and made contact with another runner.
LITTLE BROWN HORSE – Held up rounding the home turn.
Race 7: Tattersall’s Recognition Stakes H'cap – 1630m
LADY ECHELON – Jumped away awkwardly and brushed another runner. A post race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off hind leg, consistent with being galloped on.
RUDY – Tightened for room on jumping away.
BRAVE ALI – Had to be restrained from heels when the pace steadied near the 900m.
GRAYSON SQUARE - Had to be restrained from heels when the pace steadied near the 900m.
HOPFGARTEN - Had to be checked near the 200m when tightened for room by NOISY OCEAN, which shifted out, and ALDINI, which shifted in after being bumped by LADY ECHELON, which was taken in slightly by BRAVE ALI. Stewards could not be satisfied that any one rider exhibited carelessness in this incident and subsequently took no further action.
GOLDSLICK – Raced wide throughout.
DOUBLE IMPACT – Lost its off hind plate in running.
Race 8: Casrlton Mid CG&E Benchmark 85 H'cap – 1200m
CHEVAL DU FEU – A veterinary examination at the barriers cleared the horse to race. Steadied away from heels approaching the 1000m. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
PRIMAL FLIGHT – Jumped outwards at the start and made contact with another runner. When questioned, rider M. Cahill explained the gelding did not begin with its customary speed and did work in the early stages to eventually race outside the leader, DREAM OF SLIPS. He added that his mount travelled comfortably in the middle stages but did not respond to his riding in the home straight and was of the view that the gelding is better suited when able to lead and dictate the tempo of the race. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
BESEECH – Jumped away awkwardly.
GUNDY SON – Raced wide without cover.
WHITSUNDAY EXPRESS – Raced wide without cover.
