WEATHER - OVERCAST TRACK - FAST RAIL - 9.5M. ALL TRACK


RACE 1: THURLOW H'CAP - 1600M.

SING blundered on jumping away.

MANDINKA was slow to begin.

Near the 1300m., CELESTIAL DUST shifted in and brushed the running rail and became unbalanced. MR. AWESOME, which was racing to the outside of CELESTIAL DUST, was taken out on to CABERNET ROAD, which was inconvenienced.

Following this incident, ATTACKER commenced to pull hard and had to be restrained off the heels of MR. AWESOME for some distance.

Near the 800m., DARE ATTEMPT shifted out from behind the heels of SALTY PLUM and in doing so forced LOS KATROS wider on the track.

MANDINKA was held up for clear running from the 500m. until after leaving the 400m., and at that stage had to be steadied off the heels of the tiring LUSKIN GOLD.


RACE 2: PAINT THE TOWN RED H'CAP - 1849M.

BUGATTI was slow to begin.


RACE 3: SUN AND SAND H'CAP - 1200M.

KATENIAN, which was kicked behind the off girth prior to being loaded into the barriers, was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.

NEVER ON SUNDAY and MAHA were both slow to begin.

On jumping away, MAGIC LILY shifted out and made contact with HENRY THE FRUITBAT. A short distance later, HENRY THE FRUITBAT was tightened for room by HASS LINC, which shifted in.

Making the first turn, MAGIC LILY shifted in and away from SAHARA EXPRESS and brushed PROSPECTOR KING.

HASS LINC and NEVER ON SUNDAY raced wide throughout the race.


RACE 4: KAORU STAR H'CAP - 1600M.

The saddle shifted forward on SWORDLY passing the 1400m., resulting in that horse racing wide throughout and being eased out of the event.

When the pace steadied passing the 1000m., BLERICK commenced to pull hard and had to be restrained off the heels of TROUBLE IN HEAVEN and shifted out, forcing INVOICE wider on the track.

BLERICK was held up for clear running in the early stages of the straight.

A swab sample was taken from DIAMOND DANE.


RACE 5: KAORU STAR H'CAP - 1600M.

REGAL ARCHWAY shifted in on jumping away and made heavy contact with QUARRY HAWK, which was a little slow to begin.

Approaching the 1000m., HIRSCHBERG had to be restrained off the heels of PLANOVA and as a result commenced to race ungenerously.

G. Colless was questioned concerning the disappointing performance of MOHAIR. He stated that the filly overraced in the early stages, however when placed under pressure on straightening, the filly failed to respond to his riding. He added that he could offer no excuse for the performance other than the filly was having its first run in a month. A veterinary examination of MOHAIR failed to reveal any abnormality and a swab sample was taken.

A. Morrison, rider of JASTANJAH, was fined $200 for returning to scale in excess of half a kilogram over his declared weight.



RACE 6: SNIPPETS H'CAP - 1400M.

No incidents.


RACE 7: TODWANA H'CAP - 1300M.

SHE'S A TAAN was slow to begin.

MINGAMOO brushed the running rail near the 200m. when taking a narrow run to the inside of the tiring AFFIRMED'S LASS.






RACE 8: GUNSYND H'CAP - 1300M.

DANAZEEVA was very slow to begin. S. Seamer reported as the start was effected the gelding's legs slipped, and for the first 100 metres DANZZEEVA felt awkward in its action.

JACK LIVES HERE jumped outwards at the start, inconveniencing JUST A LURK.

SOVANCE ran up onto the heels of GRISMA at the 700m. and shifted out, forcing DANAZEEVA wider on the track.



ALL WINNERS, DIAMOND DANE AND MOHAIR WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
