Due to an oversight, M. Aspinall was declared as the rider of HELEN'S HONEY. P. Wolfgram was substituted as the rider of that filly.

As D. Craven was indisposed, K. Pope was substituted as the rider of COUNT CAPRICE.

When being checked off the heels of TAMUJAN at the 1000m., PROWLING AROUND struck the heels of that horse and lost ground. DOFF, which was following, was obliged to shift out abruptly, resulting in SEALINER and THE AWESOME CHANCE both being hampered when forced wider on the track.

Rounding the home turn, CHERMOULA raced in restricted room between MORINGA'S MONARCH and BRAVE WORDS, which shifted out to obtain clear running.

At the 100m., HELEN'S HONEY was obliged to shift out abruptly when held up behind GREAT WONDER and TAMUJAN.

RACE 4: AVONDALE H'CAP - 1200M.

After reaching the lead at the 1000m., NOOPY steadied the pace. This resulted in MISCELLANEA shifting out off the heels of that gelding, inconveniencing PYFO and in turn making contact with LENIENCY.

Passing the 800m., MISCELLANEA, when racing ungenerously, shifted out and made contact with the hind quarters of LENIENCY and lost ground. PYFO, which was following, had to be steadied and simultaneously hung in, resulting in MR. VELOCHEE being checked. MR. VELOCHEE then raced fiercely until approaching the home turn. MISCELLANEA also continued to race in an ungenerous manner.

When placed under pressure in the straight, NOOPY shifted out considerably, which prevented its rider apprentice D. Johnston from being able to fully test that horse with the whip. Trainer J. Wiggington was advised that a warning was being placed on NOOPY with respect to its racing manners.
