WEATHER - FINE TRACK - FAST RAIL - TRUE POSITION


RACE 1: BILL STANLEY H'CAP - 1200M.

At the request of apprentice Z. Purton, SPECIAL ISSUE was examined behind the barriers by the club's veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start. A further veterinary examination of SPECIAL ISSUE subsequent to the event revealed the mare to be showing signs of soreness in the near foreleg. Trainer G. Newham indicated that SPECIAL ISSUE would be sent for a spell.

TRANSPARENT LOVER was accidentally struck over the head by the whip of S. Seamer, rider of GOLD AND FANCY near the 150m..


RACE 2: JIM CLARK H'CAP - 1200M.

No incidents.


RACE 3: QUEENSLAND H'CAP - 1400M.

Upon straightening, ACTION FRONT was inconvenienced when taken wider by PRINCESS MELINA.

Passing the 200m., JARDINE'S LOOKOUT had to be steadied to avoid the heels of VON GALA, which shifted in when placed under pressure.


RACE 4: HENRY THOMPSON H'AP - 1800M.

SEAWELL was slow to begin.

S. Seamer, rider of NED'S REVENGE, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that leaving the 1400m. he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of BIG TIME DANCER, resulting in BIG TIME DANCER being taken in onto TOY CAROUSEL, which in turn shifted in, resulting in STORM DANCER being checked and SURE SIGN also losing ground when tightened onto the running rail. When being steadied off the heels of TRISTRAM'S SHOW at the 1600m., TOY CAROUSEL shifted out, hampering BIG TIME DANCER.

SEAWELL was held up for clear running in the early stages of the straight.

TOY CAROUSEL was unable to obtain clear running until the 200m..

A veterinary examination of REGAL CHI CHI, which compounded badly in the straight, failed to reveal any abnormality and a swab sample was taken.


RACE 5:BILL EDWARDS H'CAP - 1500M.

At the 300m., GLADIATORS and MERINGO MULL made contact as MERINGO MULL shifted out to obtain clear running.


RACE 6:QTC COUNTRY CUP - 1400M.

After jumping away very awkwardly, POETIC EARL then ran up onto the heels of DAAM LUCKY at the 1200m. and had to be checked. POETIC EARL continued to race ungenerously following this incident.


RACE 7: GORDON ADMAN H'CAP - GORDON ADMAN H'CAP - 1200M.

After being restless in the barriers, GRAND CHARIOT got its head down as the start was effected and lost ground.

LORD KARIOI jumped away awkwardly and shifted out, inconveniencing WINSTED.

AKAABER'S PROMISE and CELESTIAL SPRINTER were both held up for clear running in the early stages of the straight.

Over the concluding stages, M. Pelling was obliged to stop riding GRAND CHARIOT as a consequence of that gelding attempting to run in behind PIONEER, which shifted out slightly.



RACE 8: JACK DELANEY H'CAP - 1000M.

MOTH BALL jumped away awkwardly with its head in the air and lost ground.

GRAND BATAAN and JILLINA BLUE bumped heavily soon after the start.

ACE RULE was inclined to hang out rounding the home turn, forcing SUMI PRINCESS wider on the track.

After passing the 200m., ELDARIN was hampered by SHERLOCK, which shifted out whilst tiring.


ALL WINNERS, REGAL CHI CHI AND DRUTHER'S OPTION WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
