WEATHER - FINE TRACK - GOOD RAIL - 2M. ALL TRACK
RACE 1: JC CLARK QTIC ADDED STAKES H'CAP - 1200M.
WINDY KATE jumped awkwardly.
PICCANNY and COUNT IVOR came together at the start.
After leaving the 1000m., COUNT IVOR was inclined to overrace when steadying off the heels of PENALIZED, and near the 700m., shifted out abruptly, forcing COOGEE TREASURE wider on the track.
Near the 300m., ESDENE'S SEQUEL was tightened for room between EXILE and WINDY KATE, which shifted out to improve.
RACE 2:W.G. GLASSON H'CAP - 1600M.
DOOLIN, which dislodged its rider during the preliminary and galloped for a considerable distance, was declared a late scratching at 12.55 p.m.. Subsequent to the event, all monies invested on DOOLIN were ordered to be refunded, with deductions of 2 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets, 2 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets, applicable to successful wagers placed prior to the withdrawal time.
MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH and RACER'S SUCCESS were slow to begin.
C. Spry reported that ROAD TO HEAVEN was inclined to overrace early. Trainer J. Wallace was also of the opinion that ROAD TO HEAVEN overraced early, which may have contributed to the horse's finishing effort. A swab sample was taken from ROAD TO HEAVEN.
Near the 200m., LITTLE MADAME shifted out under pressure and made contact with HIGHLY DANGEROUS.
RACE 3: M. RYAN H'CAP - 1300M.
CLANGER was slow to begin and was obliged to race wide throughout.
SLICK OPERATOR also raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages and compounded over the final stages.
At the entrance to the straight, ECTASY had to be steadied to avoid the heels of SUNGIFT.
Near the 200m., SUNGIFT was hampered when WARRIOR TRADER shifted out.
RACE 4: JHS BARNES H'CAP - 1810M.

BRIGHTER SCENE was slow to begin.
After leaving the 800m., AULD HAT and SUPER IMPRINT were tightened for room by PITCH BLACK, which shifted in slightly. M. Pelling, rider of PITCH BLACK, was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
Near the 650m., PITCH BLACK, when tiring, again shifted in slightly despite the efforts of M. Pelling, resulting in SUPER IMPINT being taken in on to AULD HAT, which struck the fence and lost ground.
Passing the 400m., COLIN'S SPECIAL shifted out to improve, making contact with SHAMROCKS, which in turn made contact with D'ARGENT FILLE.
RACE 5: JM GRAY - BUCHANAN H'CAP - 1000M.
HOT CYMBAL was slow to begin and was obliged to race wide throughout.
DOODA HUCKLEBUCK and CRUSHED ICE came together on jumping away.
Shortly after the start, STORMY BLUE was hampered when tightened for room between MINT REGENT and SIR RUPERT.
Near the 700m., MT. GOWER, NEGATE and CITIGUY raced in restricted room to the inside of MINT REGENT, which was inclined to shift in and away from HIGH JUMP.
Approaching the 600m., the aforementioned horses were all tightened for room by HIGH JUMP, which shifted in slightly.
Making the home turn, HIGH JUMP was momentarily tightened for room between SIR RUPERT and MINT REGENT, which shifted out slightly.
DOODA HUCKLEBUCK and CRUSHED ICE were held up for clear running until near the 200m..
Over the concluding stages, MT. GOWER was inconvenienced by NEGATE, which shifted out.
A veterinary examination of HOT CYMBAL revealed the gelding to be suffering from heat stress.
RACE 6: W H BUCHANAN - 1200M.
As L. Roberts was to be overweight, N. Day was substituted as the rider of POSH TOUCH. L. Roberts was reprimanded.
SIR DAN jumped awkwardly, taking KIND SPIRITS out on to MIGHTY BLAZE, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced.
Approaching the 1000m., SIR DAN shifted in, taking POSH TOUCH in on to BUMP, which had to be restrained off the heels of NOHOLME GOLD.
Near the 1000m., ROYAL SHIRAZ, which had improved quickly to the inside of BUMP, had to be steadied when BUMP shifted in slightly.
After leaving the 1000m., BATTLER was tightened for room by NOHOLME GOLD, which shifted in when racing ungenerously.
Making the home turn, KIND SPIRITS was held up for clear running when attempting to improve to the outside of the heels of SIR DAN.
NOHOLME GOLD was inclined to hang in under pressure in the straight.
Near the 250m., ROYAL SHIRAZ was disappointed for a run between MIGHTY BLAZE and SIR DAN, and near the 200m., after improving quickly between those 2 runners, was obliged to shifted out when SIR DAN was taken out by KIND SPIRITS. In this incident, MIGHTY BLAZE shifted in across the heels of ROYAL SHIRAZ. R. Goltz, rider of ROYAL SHIRAZ, was reprimanded for initially attempting a run where there was insufficient room.
MIGHTY BLAZE was obliged to race wide throughout the event.
RACE 7: J CADELL-GARRICK H'CAP - 1200M.
As G. Duffy was to be overweight, N. Day was substituted as the rider of THREATNER. G. Duffy will be interviewed regarding this matter.
COINCIDENCE was slow to begin.
Near the 1100m., TREVISCAY shifted in and made heavy contact with AGGRAVATION.
Approaching the first turn, AGGRAVATION had to be steadied when tightened for room by YOUTHFUL, which was taken in slightly by VAIN HALO.
After passing the 1000m., DEVIL had to be restrained off the heels of VAN HALO.
STORMY LODGE was held up for clear running in the early stages of the straight, and passing the 200m., had to be checked off the heels of SONIC SWITCH.
MIGHT AND GOLD was held up for clear running approaching the 200m..
M. Rodd, rider of STORMY LODGE, was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts right to the finish line.
A veterinary examination of COINCIDENCE revealed the horse to be sore in both forelegs. Due to the horses previous history of soreness, trainer S. Hunter was advised that Rule AR 50 would now be invoked, and that the owners would be required to provide submissions, together with veterinary evidence of the horse's suitability to continue racing.
Trainer T. Hardy reported that ELITE TED lost its near fore plate in running.
RACE 8: W KENT H'CAP - 1400M.
CARBONNE was slow to begin.
BREEZE PAST and BALLANULLY came together on jumping away, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced.
TARA'S SONG also jumped awkwardly.
PHILP was obliged to raced wide in the early stages.
TARA'S SONG, which was also obliged to race wide, made the crossing awkwardly.
After leaving the 400m., TARA'S SONG had to be steadied to avoid the heels of FUJI BELLE, which shifted out.
Approaching the 200m., FREESPINS had to be steadied off the heels of CLASSIC FRONTIER.
CARBONNE was inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight.
A veterinary examination of VEESAR revealed the gelding to have sustained a small laceration to the outside of the near hind cannon.
ALL WINNERS AND ROAD TO HEAVEN WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
