Near the 400m TAABINGA LASS (J. Warrington) attempted to shift out from behind the heels of VOCALIC (C. Whiteley) and in doing so made heavy contact with GREEN LAGONDA. J. Warrington was reprimanded.

Near the finishing line FLYING DOLLAR (M. Yoshinaga) shifted in abruptly, bumping CHARMIA (N. Jolly).

Race 2:TATTERSALL'S ARCADE CLASS 6 H'CAP – 2200M
1st – Maizy May 2nd – Maizcay Miss 3rd – Sweep Out 4th – Moroccan Boy

SWEEP OUT (C. Whiteley) jumped away awkwardly.

Apprentice J. Benbow, the rider of MILLSTRIKE, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that just past the winning post on the first occasion he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of SWEEP OUT, resulting in SWEEP OUT being taken in on to MAIZCAY MISS (G. McKeon), causing MAIZCAY MISS to lose its position. J. Benbow's riding licence was suspended for a period of 6 meetings, to commence at midnight on Thursday, 2 December, and expire at midnight on Saturday, 11 December. In assessing penalty, stewards took into account J. Benbow's good race riding record.

When questioned as to the performance of TELTREE, S. Seamer stated that the horse was not suited by the pattern of the race, particularly the slow pace in the early stages and then being forced wide when other runners shifted ground on its inside approaching the home turn. A veterinary examination of TELTREE revealed no abnormalities and a swab sample was taken.

RAW INSTINCT (S. Scriven) missed the start.

On jumping away BUSH TRIUMPH (C. Whiteley) was tightened between HAMAH (A. Best) and ENABLER (D. Tanti) when both horses shifted ground. Shortly after, HAMAH then shifted in and contacted the hind quarters of MOTIVATE (P. Hammersley).

RAW INSTINCT was caught three wide after the start and raced wide throughout.

1st - Samdin 2nd – Fashion Thunder 3rd – Tudor Quest 4th – Renouf

BREEZY PATH (G. McKeon), which was slow to jump, clipped the heels of TELE SERIES (L. Deguara) as a result of being taken inwards by KID TREASURE (G. Palmer), which jumped away awkwardly.

MONTESANTOS SPIRIT (M. Pelling) had difficulty obtaining clear running in the straight.

Near the 150m RENOUF (J. Benbow) shifted in slightly and brushed FASHION THUNDER (P. Hammersley).

Near the finishing line FASHION THUNDER shifted out under pressure, forcing RENOUF out on to BILLY WHIZ (G. Colless).

An inquiry was held into the disappointing performance of LITTLE PUNC. S. Katsidis stated that the horse had travelled well, however when tested in the straight the horse failed to respond. S. Katsidis added that he was of the opinion that the horse may be better suited over a longer distance. Trainer's representative Mr Broderick expressed his disappointment in the performance and stated that the horse had worked well leading in to today's race, however following the disappointing run today he was also of the view that the horse may be looking for further. A veterinary examination of LITTLE PUNC revealed no abnormalities and a swab sample was taken.

ALL WINNERS, TELTREE AND LITTLE PUNC WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED
