SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS
From BTC meeting, 24.9.05

Race 1: Seppelt Wines Maiden 3yo H'cap - 1400m.
1st - On Bail 2nd - Lady Monashee 3rd - She's Rocking 4th - Don't Tell Anna
MERMAIDS, which slipped over in the enclosure, was inspected by the club's veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.
WHATEVER IT TAKES (M. Cahill) jumped awkwardly at the start and shortly after steadied from the heels of RODEO RIDE (B. Stewart), which shifted outwards.
JEDEPHRAE (C. Whiteley) was slow to move when the gates were released, losing ground.
Near the 900m., HE KNOWS YE KNOWS (A. Erhart) steadied from the heels of DON'T TELL ANNA (G. Colless).
MISS MOLLY DOLLY (S. Katsidis) raced ungenerously near the 800m. and steadied from the heels of LADY MONASHEE (K. Cunningham) and was inclined to race greenly for the major portion of the race.
Jockey N. Jolly was questioned regarding the apparent disappointing performance of PRINCE OF YODELLS. He stated that the horse had jumped awkwardly at the start and near the 900m. instead of being trapped wide on the circuit, he elected to ease the horse back and in doing so shifted in sharply and he was obliged to steady from the heels of JEDEPHRAE (C. Whiteley). Near the 700m., PRINCE OF YODELLS, which had been inclined to race greenly, laid in and was steadied from the heels of HE KNOWS YE KNOW (A. Erhart). Approaching the turn into the straight, he asked the horse for an effort whilst working wider to improve his position, but under his whip riding, the horse failed to respond. He stated he had been riding the horse in its work and it had been working well, but PRINCE OF YODELLS did not travel in today's race and failed to finish the race off. The explanation was noted. A post-race veterinary examination of PRINCE OF YODELLS failed to reveal any abnormality.
Jockey G. Colless was questioned over the disappointing performance of DON'T TELL ANNA. He stated that the horse travelled well until after making the 600m. crossing but failed to respond to his riding in the straight. The veterinary surgeon could find nothing amiss with the gelding.
The club's veterinary surgeon reported that MEDIA FUND had pulled up lame in the near front as a result of a torn muscle. Trainer J. Bayliss will be required to provide a veterinary clearance for MEDIA FUND prior to its next race start.
Race 2: 97.3 FM Class 3 H'cap - 2250m.
1st - Minoa 2nd - Becca's Belle 3rd - Octagonal's Star 4th - Sheoaks
Apprentice K. Cunningham, rider of LOPPER, was fined $100 for failing to claim her full allowance. [AR92(12)]
At the start, OCTAGONAL'S STAR (R. Plumb) and SHEOAKS (J. Taylor) brushed.
Near the 1400m., LOPPER (K. Cunningham), which was pulling, shifted out to avoid the heels of BECCA'S BELLE (R. Mason) and bumped CHARZIG (M. Palmer), forcing that gelding wider on the track. Shortly after, CHARZIG steadied from the heels of LOPPER.
M. Palmer was questioned over the apparent disappointing performance of CHARZIG. He stated that near the 600m. when the pace quickened, the gelding failed to respond to his riding and, in his opinion, did not appreciate the dead track. Trainer M. Eggleston stated that the gelding did not race well on a dead surface at Eagle Farm on 31 August 2005.
Race 3: Network Ten Plate 3yo & Up Maiden Plate - 1840m.
1st - Hot Air 2nd - Racer's Rocket 3rd - Big Bedourie 4th - Madge Wildfire

Near the 800m., MADGE WILDFIRE (K. Pope) brushed the rail.
FINE WEATHER (M. Palmer), MR PHOENIX (M. Cahill) and BOROBINO (B. Pengelly) were forced to race wide for the major part of the journey.
The club's veterinary surgeon reported that FINE WEATHER was tender in the off fore following the event and the Equilox implant in its hoof had shifted. Trainer K. Wood was informed to have the Equilox implant reinspected and adjusted and to provide a veterinary certificate of soundness before FINE WEATHER races again. Specimens were taken from the gelding.
Race 4: Lyndhurst Stud Class 3 H'cap - 1000m.

Shortly after the start, MISS MATAYA (N. Thomas) shifted out, brushing SECRET DONNA (K. Pope) on to MICKELSON.
THE CAVERN CLUB (R. Plumb) raced ungenerously near the 700m..
Near the 600m., SECRET DONNA (K. Pope) steadied when overracing from the heels of RUSTIC RANBLER (C. Spry).

At the start, SNOWSWEPT (B. Poulus) jumped inwards, causing DENIBOUND (S. Seamer) to be tightened on to TARQUINIUS and ease and lost ground.
Stewards inquired into the reason GROUP CERTIFICATE (R. Mason) eased near the 800m.. It was established that FUSH shifted out slightly at the same time GENERAL BEATRICOR (N. Thomas) lay in, causing GROUP CERTIFICATE to ease, losing ground. Both N. Thomas, rider of GENERAL BEATRICOR, and G. Colless (FUSH) were instructed to exercise more care in future.
A post-race veterinary examination of GROUP CERTIFICATE revealed the filly had sustained a laceration to the off fore canon.
Trainer R. Heathcote and jockey G. Colless were questioned over the disappointing performance of FUSH. Jockey Colless stated that FUSH had travelled well until the crossing near the 600m. and became uncoordinated afterwards. Jockey Colless was of the opinion that something had gone amiss with FUSH and he eased the horse out of the race. Trainer R. Heathcote stated that it was the stallion's first start since February 2004 after fracturing a sesamoid on that day. FUSH had performed extremely well in 2 barrier trials prior to today's start. Mr Heathcote was informed that FUSH must barrier trial satisfactorily before starting again. A post-race veterinary examination of FUSH failed to reveal any abnormalities. A swab sample was taken from FUSH.
