Race 1: Sky Racing Brisbane Bloodstock Bonus QTIS 2yo Maiden Plate - 1000m

T. Wolfgram was reprimanded for failing to claim his full allowance on THREESCOREANDTEN. When considering the matter, stewards took into consideration that THREESCOREANDTEN was an emergency and that he was only engaged to ride the filly at short notice.

FLY ME HERE (P. Schmidt) jumped away awkwardly and shifted out, brushing OUTSTRIP (K. Matheson).

LADY DRAMAS (C. Munce) also began awkwardly and shifted in, making contact with the hind quarters of CANISBAY (R. McMahon).

Near the 900m, OUTSTRIP had to be eased when tightened for room between FLY ME HERE and CANISBAY, which when racing greenly, shifted in slightly away from LADY DRAMAS.

SHIRAZ ATTACK (Michael Palmer) was inclined to lay out when placed under pressure over the final 200m.

TITANOMAGNETITE (T. Harrison) and CANISBAY raced wide throughout.

An explanation was sought from apprentice T. Harrison regarding the performance of TITANOMAGNETITE. T. Harrison stated that the colt has recently trialled well when able to lead and dictate terms. She added that from the wide barrier TITANOMAGNETITE had to do some work to take up a forward position 3 wide outside the leaders, and when placed under pressure soon after straightening, the colt did not respond to her riding and was slightly disappointing. A post race veterinary examination of TITANOMAGNETITE failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

Race 2: Mount Franklin F&M Maiden Plate - 1200m

SHRLIELLE (G. Colless) was slow to begin.

Inside the final 100m, SUPER SORTED (T. Harrison) was obliged to alter course to the inside of LANIERI (R. Wiggins), which shifted out under pressure.

EMPRESS EUGENIE (P. Schmidt) raced wide throughout.

Stewards sought an explanation from R. Wiggins regarding the performance of LANIERI. R. Wiggins stated that LANIERI raced very fiercely in the early and middle stages when racing 3 wide. R. Wiggins added that soon after straightening when placed under pressure LANIERI shifted out abruptly and raced greenly for the remainder of the straight. He further added that LANIERI would benefit from the experience of today's race.

Race 3: Mittys CG&E Maiden Plate - 1200m

The start of this race was delayed when LIKE BRAND NEW refused to load. Subsequently, LIKE BRAND NEW was declared a late scratching at 12.30 pm and all monies invested on the horse be refunded with the following deductions applicable.

0 cent in the dollar for the Win #9
4 cents in the dollar for place of winner #9
9 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #8
8 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #3

Trainer S. Iverson was advised that he must obtain 2 further barrier certificates for LIKE BRAND NEW, 1 of which must be obtained in an official trail.

Near 250m, DON'TCRYARGENTINA (A. Allen) shifted in under pressure and made contact with the running rail. As a result, DON'TCRYARGENTINA became unbalanced and lost ground.

DINA'S DRAGON (P. Schmidt) raced 3 wide throughout.
Race 4: Drumbeats @ Lyndhurst 3yo Maiden Plate - 1500m

COMMAND A HEART (C. Schmidt) was slow to begin.

Soon after the start, BLOSSOM DEAREST (T. Harrison) had to be steadied when tightened for room between TOSHINAGA (T. Wolfgram) and LEUROCITY (R. Wiggins), both of which shifted ground.

Near the 600m, VALERIE D'AMOUR (C. Munce) raced in restricted room between BIG WHEELS (R. McMahon) and COMMAND A HEART.

Passing the 500m, VALERIE D'AMOUR shifted out around the heels of the tiring DR STRANGELOVE (G. Colless) and made contact with COMMAND A HEART, forcing that runner wider.

BY ORDER (K. Matheson) was held up for clear running in the home straight until approaching the 200m.

After passing the 300m, BIG WHEELS was inclined to lay in and became awkward at the heels of DR STRANGELOVE when that runner was weakening.

DR STRANGELOVE and COMMAND A HEART raced wide throughout.

Race 5: XXXX Gold Class 4 H'cap - 1200m

Trainer C. Meagher advised that DARK CHARGER would be ridden back in the field as it had not been finishing its races off recently when taking up a handy position. The horse was ridden accordingly.

Soon after the start, BROOKTON FLARE (G. Colless) had to be steadied off the heels of MISS LEIBERT (R. Wiggins), which after making contact with CALCULATION (T. Harrison), shifted out.

For some distance approaching and passing the 700m, DARK CHARGER (P. Hammersley) raced ungenerously.

Near the 150m, MISHANI WARRIOR (B. Stewart) shifted out and became unbalanced after improving onto the heels of MISS LEIBERT, which shifted out slightly under pressure.

J. Byrne reported that after settling midfield on REGAL LEGEND and despite being forced wider on the track when the pace increased from the 600m, the gelding was unable to quicken when placed under pressure. He added that, in his opinion, REGAL LEGEND would be better suited when stepped up in distance.

TAMBO'S JEWEL lost its off hind plate in running.

Race 6: Winning Edge Presentation Class 4 H'cap - 1200m

COVER UP (R. Wiggins) jumped away very awkwardly and lost ground.

EMPRESS ME (R. McMahon) was slow to begin.

WITCHES WONDER (T. Harrison) began awkwardly.

COVER UP commenced to overrace after passing the 1000m and continued to do so in the middle stages, and near the 600m shifted out, inconvenienced EMPRESS ME.

SYMBIOTIC (C. Schmidt) commenced to race fiercely after passing the 1100m and had to be restrained from the heels of WITCHES WONDER and shifted out. SYMBIOTIC continued to overrace and near the 900m had to be checked from the heels of MILITARY MANOR (Michael Palmer) and shifted out, resulting in JUST PURE MAGIC (Matthew Palmer) being forced wider on the track. Trainer T. McCarthy was advised that stewards would monitor the racing manners of SYMBIOTIC, and Mr McCarthy informed stewards that the services of a more experienced rider would be considered for its future starts.

Apprentice A. Butler, rider of MR TESTA, was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift out under pressure over the final 250m, which resulted in ALL TAKEN being forced wider on the track.

SAN JOSE (D. Browne) lost its near hind plate in running.

Race 7: Bundaberg Distilling Co Class 3 Plate - 2242m

BOOBOISIE was declared a late scratching at 12.15 pm by order of the stewards acting on veterinary advice.

RIVER PERFUME (M. Hellyer) was examined by the veterinary surgeon on arrival at the barriers and passed fit to start.

LENTINI MIST (J. Byrne), which was fractious in the barriers, was removed from the gates, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.

THE INVENTOR (C. Munce) knuckled at the start and shifted in, bumping ROCK THE PAC (D. Browne).

LENTINI MIST jumped away awkwardly and shifted out, hampering RUNDLE HEIGHTS (T. Harrison).

After passing the winning post on the first occasion, M. Hellyer, rider of RIVER PERFUME, elected to restrain to take a trailing position behind SLICK LAGO (A. Pattillo) and in doing so shifted in, tightening the running of RUNDLE HEIGHTS (T. Harrison), which had to be checked. At a subsequent inquiry, stewards advised jockey M. Hellyer to exercise care, however acknowledged that he made a significant effort to prevent his mount shifting in at that point.

Also after passing the winning post on the first occasion, MOMENT TO REMEMBER (K. Matheson) shifted in, making contact with SLICK LAGO.

Stewards sought an explanation from apprentice K. Matheson regarding the riding tactics he adopted on MOMENT TO REMEMBER. He stated that he was instructed to ride the gelding with cover but when racing wide approaching the first turn he elected to stride forward and settle outside of the leader. K. Matheson added that when ROCK THE PAC assumed the lead near the 1500m THE INVENTOR shifted out, resulting in him being taken wider and having to again stride forward to gain a position closer to the rail. He further added that MOMENT TO REMEMBER was not suited by having to work in the middle stages, and would be much better served obtaining cover in future starts. The explanation was noted.

M. Hellyer reported that RIVER PERFUME was inclined to lay out from the 800m.

Trainer L. Gough indicated that ROCK THE PAC would now be sent for an immediate spell.

Race 8: Yellowglen Class 3 Plate - 1500m

AWESOME RANSOM (C. Munce) was slow to begin.

Apprentice T. Harrison, rider of LAY GUEVARA, reported it was not her intention to lead today but after travelling a short distance the mare began to race fiercely and she had no alternative but to allow her mount to stride forward.

COSMONAUT (A. Butler) began awkwardly and shifted out hampering EXCELLENT AL (M. Hellyer).

After travelling a short distance, VICE OR VIRTUE (T. Wolfgram) was taken out slightly by LADY GUEVARA (T. Harrison), which resulted in O'GRADY (L. Cassidy) having to be checked from the heels of VICE OR VIRTUE.

RETUNE (P. Hammersley) overraced in the early stages.

When being restrained approaching the 1000m, COSMONAUT raced ungenerously.

Near the 1300m, CONSIDERABLE (J. Byrne) was hampered when NIGHT CHILLS (A. Allen) shifted in slightly.

O'GRADY overraced in the early stages and passing the 1000m improved on to the heels of PSYCLONE MISS (P. Schmidt) and had to be checked. O'GRADY continued to overrace for some distance following this incident.

IN TAIPEI (G. Colless) was unable to secure clear running in the home straight until near the 150m.

NIGHT CHILLS and COSMONAUT raced wide throughout.

Stewards sought an explanation from A. Butler regarding the riding tactics adopted on COSMONAUT, which was obliged to race wide for a major part of the race. Apprentice Butler stated that he was instructed to ride COSMONAUT in the second half of the field with cover similarly to when the gelding was successful at its most recent start. He added near the 1200m when racing wide COSMONAUT began to overrace, and he was unable to shift closer to the fence as AWESOME RANSOM (C. Munce) and RETUNE had taken up positions to his inside, which resulted in him being obliged to race wide. Stewards noted the explanation.

Race 9: www.brc.com.au Benchmark 85 H'cap - 1000m

REQUESTED (L. Cassidy) was slow to begin.

GOLDEN TRINKETS (T. Harrison) began awkwardly and lost ground.

Soon after straightening, QUICK PEEK (G. Colless) shifted out around the heels of JOHN'S SPECIAL (A.Coome) and made heavy contact with SOMNAMBULIST (P. Hammersley), resulting in that horse becoming unbalanced. G. Colless, rider of QUICK PEEK, was advised to show much greater care when attempting to shift out and improve in similar circumstances.

Approaching the 200m, SOMNAMBULIST shifted out under pressure and brushed FALVELINA (P. Schmidt).

FANCIFUL (R. McMahon) raced wide throughout.

L. Cassidy reported that after being slow to begin, REQUESTED hung out for a major part of the race.
