Race 1: Kirks Class 5 H'cap - 1200m

A. Allen reported at scale TRILIONE was inclined to overrace in the early stages.

Near the 1000m, TRILIONE was steadied to avoid the heels of INTERNAL REVENUE (T. Bell), which shifted in. T. Bell, rider of INTERNAL REVENUE, was issued with a reprimand and advised of his obligations to provide sufficient clearance when shifting ground.

ROYAL JESTER (R. Wiggins) overraced during the early and middle stages.

TRILIONE shifted out over the final 150m when placed under pressure and over the concluding stages bumped the hind quarters of ROYAL JESTER.

BUSH AVIATOR (M. Cahill) was inclined to lay out in the home straight.

M. Cahill, rider of the winner, BUSH AVIATOR, was fined $200 for weighing in overweight.

Race 2: Sequalo @ Lyndhurst F&M Maiden H'cap - 1300m

Connections advised that from the good barrier draw, MISS BRAHMA would be ridden in a more forward position. MISS BRAHMA was ridden accordingly.

HARBOR SPRINGS (B. Appo) was slow to begin.

Leaving the 1000m, TRUE TO FORM (L. Cassidy) raced ungenerously for a short distance.

Near the 400m, TIRARRI (M. Cahill) shifted out to improve and in so doing made contact with LEUROCITY (R. Wiggins).

Passing the 200m, HARBOR SPRINGS was held up for clear running and near the 150m was checked after improving up on to the heels of TRUE TO FORM and as a result shifted back to the inside once AIR OF HEAVEN (A. Holt) commenced to weaken in order to improve.

Over the concluding stages, EMPRESS EUGENIE (T. Harrison) raced in restricted room between TRUE TO FORM and ALMASEA (B. El-Issa), which shifted in slightly.

C. Schmidt, rider of ONLY AMOTHER COULD, was reminded of her obligations regarding the use of her whip, in particular raising her arm above shoulder height.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of MISS BRAHMA, G. Goold stated that his mount travelled well throughout the early and middle stages, however when asked for an effort in the home straight, MISS BRAHMA failed to respond to his riding and proved most disappointing. A post race veterinary examination of MISS BRAHMA, which raced below market expectations, failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

Race 3: Ambassador Travel C&G Maiden H'cap - 1300m

Connections advised that VAZ DE TORRES would be ridden in a more forward position if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.

FISHFLY (M. Cahill) shifted in at the start, taking ROLLING PARADISE (G. Colless) in on to PARTYMAN (B. Appo).

INNER VIKING (R. Wiggins) overraced in the early stages.

Near the 800m, PARTYMAN improved up on to the heels of RUBIS (B. El-Issa) and was steadied.

Passing the 600m, ROJO GRANDE (R. McMahon) shifted out around the heels of RUBIS and in doing so made heavy contact with HITMAN HARRY (L. Cassidy) on several occasions resulting in HITMAN HARRY becoming unbalanced.

On entering the home straight, ROJO GRANDE shifted in, resulting in RUBIS having to be steadied.

Over the concluding stages, FISHFLY (M. Cahill) raced in restricted room between PARTYMAN and HITMAN HARRY, which shifted in slightly.

Race 4: Sky International Maiden Plate - 1600m

SHATTERING (T. Harrison) was slow to begin.

RESERVED (T. Bell) and QUEEN GEE (L. Rolls) were tightened for room on jumping away between GOGERTY (L. Tarrant) and BATTLE PIRATE (A. Spinks), which shifted out. In this incident, QUEEN GEE lost ground.

GOGERTY raced wide in the early stages.

STRENGTH (M. Cahill) raced wide throughout. A post race veterinary examination of STRENGTH failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

Following the poor performance of PATHETIQUE, which finished a distant last, trainer G. Copley was advised that the horse would be barred from metropolitan racing until it establishes form at provincial venues.

In light of today's poor performance by RESERVED, trainer G. Heinrich was advised that an official warning would be placed on RESERVED.

Race 5: Yellowglen QTIS 3yo F&M Plate - 1200m

Race 6: Gallopers $1 Membership Class 3 H'cap - 1000m

Connections advised that COUNTRY COMMANDS would be ridden back in the field from the wide barrier. The horse was ridden accordingly.

FLINDERS SINGA (B. Appo) was slow to begin.

Rounding the home turn, FLINDERS SINGA (B. Appo) endeavoured to shift out in order to improve and made contact with FASHION OPERA (J. Byrne), resulting in FLINDERS SINGA being held up on the heels of SILVAKINI (L. Rolls), and then was obliged to shift back in in order to obtain clear running shortly after entering the home straight.

Race 7: Landfill Logistics Pty Ltd BM75 H'cap - 1600m

Connections advised that DANYME would be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.

FACE OFF (G. Goold) was slow into stride.

PUNTERS PRIDE (M. Cahill) overraced during the early stages.

Approaching the 800m, FACE OFF commenced to overrace and improved up onto the heels of RED GOD (G. Colless) and shifted out, forcing SOUL CRUSADE (T. Bell) wider on the track.

When questioned, G. Colless stated that RED GOD travelled well in the early and middle stages of the race, however when placed under pressure on straightening, RED GOD was reluctant to stretch out and he was of the opinion that there may be something amiss with the horse's action in front. A post race veterinary examination of RED GOD revealed it to be lame in the near foreleg. A veterinary clearance for RED GOD would be required prior to its next race start. Connections advised that consideration would be given to retiring the horse.

Race 8: Grinders Coffee Class 3 H'cap - 1300m

STATING (G. Goold) was slow into stride.

Leaving the 1200m, MAIN STREET (R. McMahon) shifted in and away from MOMENT OF IMPACT despite the efforts of its rider, and as a result placed NO MORE BULL (M. Cahill) in restricted room.

Near the 200m, STATING (G. Goold) was awkwardly placed at the heels of PROOF OF LIFE (M. Vance) after shifting in and away from MAJOR MIKE (D. Browne, which shifted in, and as a result STATING (G. Goold) was held up momentarily until shifting to the outside of MAJOR MIKE to obtain clear running.
