SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT: Nil

GENERAL: Nil

Race 1: Glaceau Vitaminwater H'Cap - 2106m

G. Colless reported on return to scale that MUKADDAMAH SON had a nice run throughout and when placed under pressure soon after straightening did not sprint as he had expected and was disappointing. Trainer G. Duncan reported that in his opinion MUKADDAMAH SON may not have backed up since its last start second at Doomben on 14 September 2013.

Race 2: Kirks Fillies & Mares H'Cap - 1300m

CHARSUI (App L. Tarrant) was slow to begin.

AMALFI DREAMS (G. Colless) jumped away awkwardly and when corrected by its rider soon after the start threw its head in the air and lost further ground.

Near the 400m AMALFI DREAMS was inconvenienced when PICKABEE (App T. Harrison) shifted out.
PICKABEE was unable to secure clear running in the home straight and near the 150m altered course to the outside of the heels of JACQUETTA (R. McMahon) in order to improve.

When asked to explain the performance of AMALFI DREAMS jockey G. Colless stated that the mare jumped away awkwardly and then travelled well and responded to his riding in the early stages of the home straight however, failed to finish the race off as expected over the final 200m.

WRITE CHEEK (L. Cassidy) cast its near fore plate during the event.

Race 3: Goulburn Valley Juice BM80 H'Cap - 1805m

GALAXY KING (K. Wharton) was inspected by the veterinary surgeon at the barriers when it was kicked by another runner during its preliminary. GALAXY KING was subsequently cleared to race.

TRAJET (App A. Holt) raced 3 wide in the early stages before being ridden forward to obtain the position outside the leader near the 1200m.

Near the 350m SOUL CRUSADE (App A. Allen) was momentarily steadied and shifted to the outside of the heels of the tiring TRAJET.

Stewards sought an explanation from App R. Jamieson regarding the riding tactics adopted on BOREHOLE, which settled in a forward position today which was in contrast to its most recent start where it settled towards the rear of the field. App Jamieson stated that she was given no specific instructions other than to ride the horse where it was comfortable and after beginning well rather than settling it back in the field she allowed BOREHOLE to stride forward and it ultimately settled outside the leader. Trainer D. Lawlor confirmed that there were no specific instructions and added that he gave similar instructions to A. Spinks at its most recent start however, BOREHOLE could not muster any speed on that occasion. Mr Lawlor added that he had chiropractic work carried out on the hip of BOREHOLE on Wednesday 18 September 2013, which in his opinion may have had a bearing on today's improved performance. Stewards fined Mr Lawlor the sum of $200.00 under the provisions of AR140(a)(ii)(a) for failing to report to stewards this treatment.

Stewards questioned App G. Goold regarding the lack of vigour he exhibited on SAM'S TOWN rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight. App Goold stated that he was instructed to ride SAM'S TOWN with cover and keep it balanced rounding the home turn and improve his position from the 300m. He added that once he shifted to the outside passing the 300m SAM'S TOWN quickened however, peaked on its run over the final 100m. Stewards noted the explanation of App Goold and advised him that he should at all times ride in a manner which does not leave himself open to question.

Race 4: Nestea Iced Tea BM95 H’Cap - 1500m

ROCK HOME LATE (P. Holmes) knuckled badly at the start and lost ground.

Soon after the start HLUDOWIG (K. Wharton) which began awkwardly shifted in and tightened ESSINGTON (B. El-Issa) onto the hind quarters of HOUR OF PERIL (App A. Holt).
ESSINGTON, USAIN PRINCE (C. Munce) and FACE OFF (V. Colgan) all overraced in the early stages of the event.

Rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight BILLY AUCASH (T. Bell) was unable to obtain clear running and made contact with PREACHER BOY (App T. Harrison) on a number of occasions.

PREACHER BOY raced 3 wide without cover throughout the event.

When asked to explain the performance of BILLY AUCASH rider T. Bell stated that the gelding got shuffled further back n the early stages by virtue of USAIN PRINCE, which he was trailing racing ungenerously and losing ground. He further added that in the early stages of the home straight he was disappointed for clear running between USAIN PRINCE and PREACHER BOY and in his view these factors had a bearing on the gelding's overall performance.

App A. Holt the rider of HOUR OF PERIL was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a) in that approaching the 100m he permitted his mount to shift out under pressure when insufficiently clear of ROCK HOME LATE, which was in turn taken out onto ELUSIVE KING (G. Colless), which resulted in ELUSIVE KING being taken out onto FACE OFF, which had to be checked when tightened between ELUSIVE KING and HLUDOWIG. App Holt's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of seven (7) meetings to commence midnight 28 September 2013 and expire midnight 7 October 2013.

Race 5: Coke Zero NMW H'Cap - 1000m

BUSHY (E. Wilkinson) jumped away awkwardly and shifted out making contact with SHAZZLE PAZZLE (App T. Jeffries), which in turn inconvenienced TICKET TO DREAM (G. Colless).

Near the 700m SHAZZLE PAZZLE shifted in and bumped BUSHY.

WHO WILL (App T. Harrison), IMPALA (App B. Appo) and SHAZZLE PAZZLE all raced wide throughout the event.

Stewards sought an explanation from trainer M. Dunn regarding the improved performance of TICKET TO DREAM. Mr Dunn advised that the mare jarred up on the firm surface last start and was suited stepping back in distance today.

Trainer L. Treloar advised stewards that WHO WILL which performed disappointingly will now be sent for an immediate spell.

Race 6: Coca-Cola BM90 H'Cap - 1200m

Near the 250m DE DOZEN STARS (L. Cassidy) which was held up for clear running shifted out and made heavy contact with OLLIE VOLLIE (App A. Holt), taking that runner out onto FALINO (App G. Goold), which was inconvenienced. L. Cassidy the rider of DE DOZEN STARS was advised to exercise far greater care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.

An inquiry into the reason for D'JET (T. Bell) clipping the heels of THEFT (App T. Harrison) after passing the 100m was adjourned as both T. Bell and App Harrison had commitments at the Sunshine Coast. This matter will reconvene on Wednesday 25 September 2013.

Race 7: Canadian Club QTIS 3YO H’Cap - 1200m

LONDEHERO (G. Colless) was restrained at the start to gain a position closer to the rail.

After travelling a short distance SHE'S A DANICA (V. Colgan) shifted in and made heavy contact with FRIENDLY DRAGON (M. Vance). A short distance later SHE'S A DANICA when overracing improved onto the heels of CANNYZING and had to be restrained. MISS HUSSON (C. Munce) was hampered as a consequence.

Approaching the 1000m TISANI TOMSO (App L. Tarrant) shifted in and brushed the running rail.

After being caught wide early FLAMBOYER (R. McMahon) was allowed to stride forward to a position outside the leader near the 1000m.

G. Colless the rider of LONDEHERO pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a) in that he permitted LONDEHERO to shift out approaching the 200m when insufficiently clear of MISHANI GLADIATOR (App A. Allen), resulting in MISHANI GLADIATOR clipping the heels of LONDEHERO and falling dislodging its rider. G. Colless' license to ride in races was suspended for a period of three (3) weeks to commence midnight 21 September 2013 and expire midnight 12 October 2013.

A post race veterinary examination of MISHANI GLADIATOR revealed the gelding to have a laceration to the nose, mouth and off hind pastern.

A post race veterinary examination of SHE'S A DANICA revealed the filly to be exhibiting signs of discomfort caused by tying up.

Trainer R. Heathcote will be interviewed regarding the racing manners of SHE'S A DANICA.

LONDEHERO cast an off hind plate in running.

As a result of the fall App Allen was examined by the Club's Doctor and stood down from his ride in Race 8 and replaced by App G. Goold.

Race 8: Mount Franklin NMW H’Cap - 1400m

JACK'S BACK (App L. Tarrant) jumped away awkwardly and shifted out hampering SHOWMETHEMONEY (App B. Appo).

Near the 400m GO THE BLAZE (B.El-Issa) had to be eased when tightened for room by JUST A PERLA (App G. Goold), which shifted in when not fully clear. App Goold was issued with a reprimand and advised to show greater care when shifting ground.

JACK'S BACK raced 3 wide throughout without cover.

BUSY DOIN' NOTHIN' (App R. Jamieson) raced wide throughout the event.
