EMERALD JOCKEY CLUB
STEWARDS REPORT
30th November 2002
STEWARDS PANEL: G. MEEK (CHAIRMAN) N. VAGG
WEATHER – FINE TRACK – GOOD
GENERAL REPORT:
Trainer Allan Albert was reprimanded under the terms of LR12 for arriving on course dressed inappropriately when in charge of horses.
RACE 1: CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1000 METRES (7 STARTERS)
At approximately the 250 metre mark CLAYPAN DANCE (N Coyne) had to be steadied as a result of TAMBO ROAD (B Bell) shifting out and PRIDE OF CASS (C Beets) rolling in.
On returning to scale jockey C Beets (PRIDE OF CASS) wished to view the video film to verify his semaphored dead heat for first place, as no photo print was taken by the club. Also apprentice J Dagan who was the rider of the other dead heater (HULAKAI) lodged an objection against PRIDE OF CASS being placed dead heat for first past the post on grounds of interference at approximately the 20 metres mark. After considering submissions from both riders, viewing the patrol film footage and their own observations stewards were of the opinion the interference suffered at the 20 metres was sufficient to uphold the objection of
J Dagan. The semaphored placing’s were subsequently amended to 1st HULAKAI,
2nd PRIDE OF CASS, 3rd TAMBO ROAD.
RACE 2: MAIDEN HANDICAP 1100 METRES (8 STARTERS)
The start of race 2 was put back to 2.25pm due to the long delay in the judges decision of deciding the placing’s in race 1 and a subsequent protest.
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 3: CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1635 METRES (5 STARTERS)
On jumping TIMBER PRINCE (G Bell) was slow into stride.
RACE 4: OPEN HANDICAP 1200 METRES (8 STARTERS)
As the start was effected FLYING FEATHERS (J Dagan) jumped outwards and came into contact with HAS IT ALL (G Bell).
ROTELLA (D Rewald) was slow to jump.
From approximately the 250 metre’s mark to the 100 metre’s ROTELLA (D Rewald) was held up for a run behind FLYING FEATHERS (J Dagan) and HAS IT ALL (G Bell).
RACE 5: CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1200 METRES (7 STARTERS)
Jockey B Bell was reprimanded under the terms of AR137(a) in that at approximately the 100 metres mark he permitted his mount WOBBLY BOOT to shift in when insufficiently clear of AQUIRE (G. Bell).
ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
