EMERALD JOCKEY CLUB STEWARDS REPORT 10/04/2004

STEWARDS PANEL: R Doyle (Chairman), N Vagg, G McDonald

WEATHER – FINE TRACK – GOOD RAIL – TRUE
As B Appo was indisposed, due to a rave fall in Mackay on the 6th April 2004, Stewards permitted the following riding replacements:
Race 1 LADY ANDIAMO D Rewald
Race 2 NORTHERN ROCKET D Rewald
Race 3 LAWSOME D Rewald
Race 5 MRS DENVER D REWALD
RACE 1: MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M
CHILLI BEAN shifted out over concluding stages making contact with DINKYDOLITTLE, causing that horse to shift out making contact with LADY ANDIAMO.
DIGITAL PULSE was hard to load and became fractious in the barriers. A warning was placed on DIGITAL PULSE.
SARRY KAN was reluctant to go to barriers, dislodging N Coyne, clerk of the course picked up SARRY KAN and N Coyne walked to the barriers. Trainer N Coyne was advised that SARRY KAN would have to pass a barrier trial before next race start.

RACE 2: CLASS B H'CAP –1200M
SPOOKYS BEACH had to be steadied to avoid the heels of BOLD REGAL approaching the home turn.
Trainer T Crane will be asked to front the stewards as to why he never sent a letter of authority regarding SPOOKYS BEACH.
SCARLET STANZA jumped out at the start making contact with UNIVERSAL LAD.
SCARLET STANZA and TURF BLAZING made contact at the 650m.
UNIVERSAL LAD shifted in at the 200m making contact with SPOOKYS BEACH.

RACE 3: CLASS 6 H'CAP –1300M
DON’T MUKAROUND was slow into stride.

RACE 4: OPEN H'CAP – 1000M
Record time jumped in at the start making contact with THE FALCON.
KRULEWSKY was slow in to stride.
When questioned regarding the poor performance of DARING MISS D Evans stated that the mare was inclined to hung out for entire race and failed to handle the track. Trainer T McMahon stated that the mare might have one more run before retiring her.

RACE 5: CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1000M
TIME RULES was fractious in barriers.
KAPITZA shifted out over the concluding stages minor inconvenience to TIME RULES.



ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
