Race 1: MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 metres
1st: EDGEROI 2nd: KINGS ARTILLERY 3rd:SARRY KAN 4th: VETUBRA
SCOOT KAN was a late scratching by order of the stewards at 12.20pm due to a stable mishap, injuring it’s wither. No deductions were required.
App B Young weighed out without his race irons on his saddle. As it was only his second ride he stated that he was very nervous and had forgot to put them on. Stewards reminded him of his responsibilities and took no further action.
KINGS ARTILLERY, which was fractious in the barriers stepped back hitting the back gate breaking the weld on the gate. As a result all horses were reloaded moving them out by 3 barriers. KINGS ARTILLERY was vetted and cleared to start.
No racing incidents.

Race 2: CLASS 3 HANDICAP - 1000 metres
1st: STARTACUS 2nd: PUNTERS REWARD 3rd: RENTREE 4th: PRIDE ‘N’ PROUD
Prior to correct weight, L Timson, rider of PUNTERS REWARD, second placegetter viewed the stewards patrol video before deciding not to lodge an objection. It was established that nearing the 150m mark STARTACUS shifted out once placed under pressure brushing PUNTERS REWARD.
LADY ANDIAMO, which was fractious in the barrier returned to scale with lacerations to her off hind leg.
J Stephens the rider of HULA EXPRESS was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in approaching the 600m resulting in PRIDE’N’ PROUD having to be steadied.



Race 3: OPEN HANDICAP – 1200 metres
1st: DANCING POTTER 2nd: ODONATA 3rd: DREAMS OF WEALTH 4th: CASHED IN
TELKALA was inclined to lay out and race wide for the entire event.

Race 4: CLASS B HANDICAP - 1300 metres
1st: EDGEROI EVE 2nd: DAD FORETELLS 3rd: BONARBRIDGE 4th: SPECIAL SABRE
Delayed for 20 minutes due to the repairs having to be done to the barriers.
T Mathieson was dislodged from MR FELIX (NZ) on the way to the barriers, injuring her shoulder. MR FELIX (NZ) was recaptured and vetted and cleared to start. L Timson was the replacement rider on MR FELIX(NZ).
COVER MY TRACKS, which refused to load into the barriers was a late scratching by order of the stewards acting on the starters advise. Trainer G Bell was advised that COVER MY TRACKS would be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of the stewards before next race start.
SYDNEY JACK when being loaded into the barriers reared over backwards injuring app L Dillon’s right leg. SYDNEY JACK was a late scratching by order of the stewards. No action was taken as it was ascertained that the barrier attendants had contributed to the mishap. On announcement of correct weight, stewards ordered that all monies invested on COVER MY TRACKS and SYDNEY JACK be refunded with deductions of 40 cents in the dollar for the win and 33 cents in the dollar for the place on the face value of win and place tickets applicable.
MR FELIX (NZ) was inclined to lay out for the entire event.

Race 5: CLASS 5 HANDICAP - 1300 metres
1st: UBIQUITOUS 2nd:LORD CLINTON 3rd: SPRINGSURE ROAD 4th:STAR ANCHOR
Delayed 20 minutes.
Prior to correct weight, app J Dagan , rider of LORD CLINTON, second placegetter, viewed the stewards patrol video, before deciding not to lodge an objection. It was established that near the 400m mark STAR ANCHOR had shifted out and UBIQUITIOUS shifted in resulting in LORD CLINTON having to be steadied.
After leaving the 600m ALL EXPRESS had to be steadied to avoid the heels of UBIQUITOUS which shifted out.
