SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:
As M Dale was indisposed he was replaced as per steward’s summary sheet.
Trainer W Pomfrett, was fined the sum of $50.00 under AR59A for failing to provide the document of description for BEAFIFTYTWO.
Race 1: EMERALD COACHES CLASS 3 PLATE – 1000M.
1st – DULACCA DAME 2nd – KATASTROPHIC 3rd – CRAIGLEA BABA 4th – MY VIEW
KATASTROPHIC (App A Coome) began awkwardly.
RECKLESS JESTER (L Timson) was inclined to lay in soon after the start for a short distance.
Race 2: MINERVA JOINT VENTURE QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1100M.
1st – OUR OLIVER YING 2nd – FINE SEAS 3rd – INDOLLARGENCE 4th – WILDFLOWERS
INDOLLARGENCE (G Booth) lost ground at the start when tightened for room between SET AND BET (N Evans) which jumped out and TEE DEE EIGHT (S Quick) which jumped in.
BEAFIFTYTWO (S Watkin) began awkwardly.
OUR OLIVER YING (J Stephens) commenced to race ungenerously near the 1050m and shifted in making contact with BEAFIFTYTWO (S Watkin) which inturn shifted in causing TEE DEE EIGHT (S Quick) to be steadied and shift in onto SET AND BET (N Evans) which had to be checked. J Stephens, the rider of OUR OLIVER YING was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Approaching the 800m OUR OLIVER YING (J Stephens) which was racing ungenerously shifted in abruptly taking BABY TOD (L Timson) in onto FINE SEAS (D Whitmore) which had to be steadied and shift in causing MAJESTIC MOSS (C Beats) to be checked, LITTLEBITDODGEY (App D Carrigg) which was following had to be restrained as a result, while stewards acknowledged the racing manners of OUR OLIVER YING, J Stephens, the rider of that horse was nonetheless reprimanded and advised to show more care in similar circumstances.
A post race veterinary examination OUR OLIVER YING failed to reveal any abnormalities.
A Stephens, the trainer of OUR OLIVER YING was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
Race 3: G & K SICKLINGER NEWMARKET OPEN H’CAP – 1200M.
1st – THAT’S PALEFACE 2nd – LEMON LIME 3rd – ROSIELEE MISS 4th – KAPITZA
Both KAPITZA (N Evans) and THAT’S PALEFACE (D Whitmore) began awkwardly.
PRIDE AND POWER (G Booth) began awkwardly and shifted out making heavy contact with PARIS MAIZE (M Cant) which became unbalanced, PRIDE AND POWER continued to lay out forcing PARIS MAIZE out onto ST SPARTICA (L Timson) which shifted out making heavy contact with the hind quarters of GENERATOR (App D Carrigg) which became unbalanced and shifted out bumping CHARLIE WON’T (G Bell), and then shifted in causing ST SPARTICA to be checked and lose ground.
Approaching the 100m, YA WAHEED (S Watkin) raced in restricted room when crowded for room between GENERATOR (App D Carrigg) and CHARLIE WON’T (G Bell) which shifted out slightly.
D Johnston, the rider of ROSIELEE MISS, was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a), in that near the 100m he directed his mount out when not clear of CHARLIE WON’T (G Bell), which was obliged to shift out tightening YA WAHEED (S Watkin) onto GENERATOR (App D Carrigg) causing YA WAHEED to be checked and shift out, ST SPARTICA (L Timson) which was following had to be checked to avoid that horses heels. D Johnston’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of three Capricornia meetings, to commence at midnight Tuesday 16th May 2006 and expire at midnight Thursday 25th May 2006.
GENERATOR (App D Carrigg) raced wide in the early stages.
RED MOUNTAIN (App A Coome) raced wide throughout the race.
Race 4: MOSLEY MINING CLASS B HANDICAP – 1300M.
1st – CELESTIAL RED 2nd – MAUDIE KATE 3rd – HONEY QUEEN 4th – PERCHERON
REGAL TUNE (L Timson) was slow to begin.
PERCHERON (App A Coome) began awkwardly and shortly after the start was tightened for room between FLIP HOSE (G Booth) and MAUDIE KATE (S Quick) which shifted out.
MAUDIE KATE (S Quick) shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
PERCHERON (App A Coome) raced wide throughout the race.
Race 5: FAIRBAIRN BAKERY/CD ADAMS REAL ESTATE CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1300M.
1st – FLICK ‘N’ SPIN 2nd – SPRINGSURE ROAD 3rd – IDIDIT MY WAY 4th – SLASHED
FLICK ‘N’ SPIN (App A Coome) was slow to begin.
IDIDIT MY WAY (G Booth) raced wide throughout the race.
Race 6: CIVIC VIDEO/SPORTSPOWER EMERALD CUP OPEN H’CAP – 1300M.
1st – DINI WHO 2nd – PIMPALA PLAYER 3rd – KOALA 4th – PAPER KINGS
LEGAL BRIEF (D Whitmore) was slow to begin.
Both PIMPALA PLAYER (G Bell) and OUR JIM BEAU (App D Carrigg) raced wide in the early and middle stages.
Trainer T Cook reported to stewards that OUR JIM BEAU was found to have bled following the event. As this was the first time OUR JIM BEAU had bled, the horse would incur the mandatory three month ban.
