Race 1: Maiden Plate - 1000M
1st – Hypatia 2nd –Tripwire 3rd – Faithful Romeo 4th – Danish Knight

ONE HUNDRED WATTS was withdrawn by order of stewards at 12.15 pm due to the lack of a suitable rider.

BRACK OFF (J Stephens) jumped outwards and made contact with SMARTY HEARTY (W Morris).

BOSS JOKER (R Hall) was slow into stride.

Approximately at the 700m LIGHTLY HE GOES (R Kerwin) had to be steadied off the heels of BRACK OFF (J Stephens).

BRACK OFF (J Stephens) and SMARTY HEARTY (W Morris) raced wide for the entirety of the event.

At a post race veterinary inspection LIGHTLY HE GOES was found to be suffering a sesamoid ligament injury to the off fore.




Race 2: CLASS 6 Plate – 1000M
1st –Fleet The Bongo 2nd – Hatangi 3rd – Startacus 4th – Sequedo

STARTACUS (M Cant) jumped inwards and made contact MURPHY’S REPLY (B Powell).

HATANGI (J Stephens) jumped awkwardly and made contact with the barriers.

Approaching the 700m STARTACUS (M Cant) was obliged to ease when MURPHY’S REPLY (B Powell) shifted inwards. B. Powell was reprimanded.

Race 3: Class B Handicap – 1200M
1st – Desert Hayil 2nd – Snagapot 3rd – Floyd Pepper 4th – Whateverdad

KAAPERINA was withdrawn by order of stewards at 1.55pm due to no rider being available.

CANNY KELL (W Morris) was fractious in the barriers and was required to be removed and reloaded.

BALBORA (K Pedron) jumped outwards and made contact with CANNY KELL (W Morris).

DESERT HAYIL (R Kerwin) was slow into stride.

DESERT HAYIL over raced during the middle stages.

Prior to correct weight connections of second placed SNAGAPOT exercised their option to view the photo finish to confirm judges placings.


Race 4: Class 3 Handicap – 1300M
1st –Energiser 2nd – Moonshiner 3rd – Light Southerly 4th – Hardly a Game

Jockey W Morris was permitted to ride IZABAD 1.5 kg above the allocated weight due to the non availability of any other rider.

DELAGO MONEY was withdrawn on veterinary advice after DELAGO MONEY became fractious in the barriers. Prior to the declaration of correct weight stewards declared deductions of 22c in the win and 17c in the place of the face value of tickets and all monies to be refunded on DELAGO MONEY.

IZA BAD (W Morris) and REAF SHAR BAYE (L Brown) raced extremely wide during the middle stages.

Race 5: Open Handicap – 1300M
1st –Montserrat (NZ) 2nd – Dangerous Host 3rd – Urgent Sea 4th – Gudinov

DANGEROUS HOST (S Evans) was slow into stride.

At approximately the 1100m point IRON BRIDGE (App K Mizobe) shifted inwards when following MONTSERRAT (M Cant) across the field and applied pressure to GUDINOV (J Stepens) and URGENT SEA (L Brown). Both GUDINOV and URGENT SEA were obliged to ease to relieve the pressure from IRON BRIDGE. DANGEROUS HOST (S Evans) which was following threw his head in the air and raced ungenerously when eased to avoid the heels of GUDINOV. K Mozobe, the rider of IRON BRIDGE was reprimanded.

KINGS MIRROR (K Pedron) raced wide from the middle stages.
