SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
Due to testing of the new barriers, Stewards delayed the start time of Race 1 by 30 minutes.
Race 1: CLASS B Handicap - 1000 Mtrs
1st –Nerangatang 2nd – Plandice 3rd – Nymphette 4th – Street Sign
Apprentice R. Cox was fined $150 for failing to claim to his riding weight.
JESTACOUNT(C Dixon) and KYLIE’S STAR (M Cant) were both slow away. TEMPORY DEFICIT (S Sheargold) and BILLKAY (W Mules) commenced to race wide from the 600 mtrs.
Race 2: QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1000 Mtrs
1st – Calvale Road 2nd – Darraflyer 3rd – Little Alf 4th – Gamble in Gold
Due to a malfunction with the photo finish power supply all placings and margins were declared by the judges decision.
Stewards acceded to a request from Trainer C Smith for his apprentice R. Cox to ride STROMGLAD overweight due to no other available rider at or closer to the allotted weight.
PICABLE (C DIXON) and STROMGLAD (App R Cox) were slow into stride. Approaching the 900 mtrs GOLD COAST GIRL (S Watkin) threw its head in the air and raced ungenerously losing its position in the field.
Approaching the 450 mtrs GAMBLE IN GOLD (M Barnham) over reacted when being steadied and lost ground sharply. OVERBOARD (M Cant) was obliged to take hold to avoid the heels of GAMBLE IN GOLD and as a result lost several lengths. CALVALE ROAD (T Bannon) shifted outwards under pressure over the concluding stages. SHOVISE (M Cullen) travelled wide throughout.
A post race veterinary inspection revealed no abnormalities with GOLD COAST GIRL and the filly will be required to complete a trial to the Stewards satisfaction prior to its next race start.
Race 3: CLASS 5 Handicap – 1000 Mtrs
1st – Regal Mountain 2nd – Testatude 3rd – Repeat Offender 4th – Nickaway
At the start PUNCH THE AIR (S Watkin) jumped inwards and made contact with INFRINGEMENT (M Barnham).
TESTATUDE (T Bannon) was slow into stride and travelled wide during the early stages.
Race 4: Class 3 Plate – 1300 Mtrs
1st – Posting (NZ) 2nd – Rocking Melody 3rd – Tayanso 4th – Sword of Honour
At the start, IN BOLD FASHION (M Barnham) was tightened between TAYANSO (D Whitmore) which jumped awkwardly and AFTER THE FACT (W Kenning).
Approaching the 800 mtrs TAYANSO raced ungenerously for several strides.
Race 5: Open Handicap – 1300 Mtrs
1st – Super Shadow 2nd – Montserrat 3rd – Viscount Grand 4th – Ruby Frisco
Stewards permitted C Dixon to ride SNAGAPOT 1 ½ kg over the allotted weight due to no other rider closer to the allotted weight
SWEED (R Mules) jumped awkwardly and lost ground. TOPS LAD ( M Cant) and CELLULAR (S Watkin) made contact at the jump.
Approaching the 50mtrs CELLULAR shifted outwards across the heels of STOUTFAST (R Cox) and made contact with TOPS LAD.
Over the concluding stages SUPER SHADOW (App R Cox) shifted outwards under pressure and had to be straightened.
