Race 1: Minerva Mine QTIS Maiden Plate- 1000 metres
1st – TERESA 2nd – BETHEL TWO 3rd – NINEDAYFORTNIGHT 4th – DARRAFLYER

Trainer R. Wilson was reprimanded for failing to declare a rider for BAGGER’S VERSE by the required time.

Stewards had been advised by the Trainers Service Centre that an error had occurred and a scratching had not been notified. When SHOVISE failed to arrive on course, and acting on a confirmed phone call with Trainer M. Moon, SHOVISE was declared at late scratching at 1.12pm. Prior to the announcement of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all monies invested on SHOVISE be refunded, and that all bets made with bookmakers be paid less the following deductions; 8 cents in the dollar win and 9 cents the place.

STANSAVANNA (T. O’Hara) was slow to begin.

MY PAL HOUSTON (S. Watkin) and LIGHT MARSCAY (N. Patchett) were both slow into stride.

At approximately the 500 metres, BAGGER’S VERSE (D. Simmons) was unable to maintain its position between DARRAFLYER (App H O’Hara) and ROOKERY (M. Barnham) and shifted to the outside of DARRAFLYER.

Jockey S. Sheargold pleaded guilty to a charge under ARR 118A in that after weighing out he changed his boots without the permission of the Stewards. Jockey S. Sheargold was fined $200.

Race 2: Emerald Dry Cleaners and Steam Laundry Class 3 Plate- 1000 metres
1st – EXONERATED 2nd - NERANGATANG 3rd – AFTER THE FACT 4th – SHY BUCK

SIR SOMETHING (L. Dillon) was a little slow to begin.

Shortly after the start, BLACK ANGUS (M. Barnham) was inconvenienced and lost some ground when SHY BUCK (M. Cant) shifted out while being ridden forward. Stewards issued Jockey Cant with a reprimand for careless riding.

NICKAWAY (S. Watkin) raced wide throughout.

Jockey D. Simmons reported PRINCE OF DANES was inclined to hang out throughout.

Race 3: Emerald Real Estate Class B Handicap- 1200 metres
1st - SPEED LIMIT 2nd – PLANDICE 3rd – TREASURE CAY 4th – MOCHA TART

MOCHA TART (App H O’Hara) jumped away awkwardly and lost some ground.

PEB’S MAGIC (T. O’Hara) was slow to begin.

NYMPHETTE (W. Kenning) and HEARTS WILL (M. Cant) raced wide for the majority of the event.

On straightening, TWO BOB SNOB (M. Barnham) raced in restricted room and was tightened between HEARTS WILL and RED LION LASS (M. Usher), shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of RED LION LASS, which became unbalanced and shifted inwards, and further hampered TWO BOB SNOB.

Race 4: Emerald Coaches Newmarket Handicap- 1200 metres
1st – CATCHIT 2nd – CELLULAR 3rd – MONTSERRAT 4th – STOUTFAST

No racing incidents.

Jockey R. Mules was cautioned for using his whip in an action raised above his shoulder. Stewards were mindful of his explanation that CATCHIT was shifting ground over the concluding stages and he had used a backhand action while also showing the whip forward in an effort to maintain a straight line.

Race 5: BMA Gregory Mines 30th Birthday Emerald Cup Open Handicap- 1635 metres
1st - OTTO’S DELIGHT 2nd – LOOSE UNIT 3rd – EVADING 4th – FOUR AMIGOS
