A Coome was unable to attend due to personal reasons, changes as per stewards summary

Race 1: Emerald Coaches QTIS Maiden Plate - 1000 metres
1st SUITE ANNIE 2nd MYSTERIOUS MAN 3rd VAL’S BULL 4th- KING TUDOR

Stewards in consultation with the club moved the 1000m start in the shute to the course proper due to the state of the track.

When Jockey M Barnham was to be overweight, Jockey D Simmons was substituted as the rider of VAL’S BULL in Race 1. Jockey Barnham was fined $100 under A.R.120 (b).

EZY CHANCE (T Bannon) was reluctant to proceed to the barriers.
Trainer J Pointon was advised that EZY CHANCE would have a warning placed on it regarding its manners in the mounting yard.


MY FIRST ADVENTURE, which refused to load wasdeclared a late scratching at 1:35 pm. Subsequent to the event all monies invested on MY FIRST ADVENTURE were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions to apply:

4 cent in the dollar for the Winner SUITE ANNIE
11 cent in the dollar for place of winner SUITE ANNIE
7 cent in the dollar for 2nd place MYSTERIOUS MAN

Trainer T Button was advised that MY FIRST ADVENTURE would require a barrier certificate prior to its next start.


Race 2: Rio Tinto’s Kestral Mine Class B Handicap- 1100 metres
1st A DEPENDANT 2nd FRAHA 3rd SPOTTED EAGLE 4th- BOTANICAL BELLE

Following the running of Race 1 the track was downgraded to Heavy 8.

JUST MEILLE, which refused to leave the mounting yard and also dislodged Jockey N Patchett was declared a late scratching at 2:04 pm. Jockey N Patchett was inpected by the Ambulance Officer and cleared to fulfill his riding engagements. Subsequent to the event all monies invested on JUST MEILLE were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions to apply:

6 cent in the dollar for the Winner A DEPENDANT
13 cent in the dollar for place of winner A DEPENDANT
11 cent in the dollar for 2nd place FRAHA
9 cent in the dollar for 3rd place SPOTTED EAGLE

Trainer R Meek was advised that a warning be place on the mare in regards to her manners in the mounting yard.

At the start BOTANICAL BELLE (T O’Hara) shifted in and bumped EQUALITY (R Mules).

CRAIGLEA HARMONY (A Taylor) raced wide throughout.

Jockey R Mules reported that EQUALITY which was travelling well to the home turn did not respond when asked for an effort at the 400m. In Jockey R Mule’s opinion the mare did not handle the heavy surface.


Race 3: Steve Taylor & Partners Emerald Newmarket Open Handicap- 1200 metres
1st– HUNTING LODGE 2nd – DEGENDA 3rd HONOUR GUARD 4th- DASHING DOLL

The declaration of correct weight was delayed when Jockey D Whitmore requested to view the photo finish. After viewing the photo Jockey Whitmore was satisfied with the Judge’s decision and correct weight was declared.

DASHING DOLL (D Whitmore) was slow into stride.

Leaving the 900m when the pace eased INDOLLARGENCE (C Pye) has steadied from the heels of DEGENDA (C Maund).

Approximately the 700m when the pace eased CHUBBY (T O’Hara) has steadied from the heels of DEGENDA.


Race 4: Holistic Hands Natural Therapy Clinic Class 2 Handicap - 1300 metres
1st POWER TO EXCEED 2nd INALA ROYALE 3rd RYTARGA 4th – BAYBY GIRL

At the start TALKING NONSENSE (C Maund) and RYTARGA (C McIver) bumped.

RED SAVANNAH (A Taylor) was inclined to over race in the early and middle stages.

MONASHEE EXPRESS (M Barnham) raced wide throughout.

INALA ROYALE (N Patchett) commenced to race wide from the 800m.

Race 5: Emerald Real Estate Emerald Cup Open Handicap- 1635 metres
1st DANCEFLOOR PRODIGY 2nd GETAWAY PLAN 3rd SIR VAN TEES 4th- BOLTON ABBEY

IN REHEARSAL (R Mules) and FOREVER MORE (D Whitmore) were both slow away.

BOLTON ABBEY (C McIver) raced wide throughout.

Approaching the 400m IN REHEARSAL shifted out across the heels from behind SEEKAWINNER (N Patchett) which was yielding ground to obtain clear running.
