Race 1: Herb Milne Memorial Class 2 Handicap- 1000 metres
1st RAHULA 2nd SAINT BELLE 3rd LITTLE MISTY 4th- ALANDY LAD

Due to transport difficulties Jockey McGovern was replaced by Jockey T Bannon on GIVE IM ZA.

Both LITTLE MISTY (M Usher) and SAINT BELLE (A Kitson) were both slow away.

ALANDY LAD (B Floyd) was slow to muster speed.

GIVE IM ZA (T Bannon) raced wide throughout.

Race 2: KLR Trades Class 5 Handicap- 1000 metres
1st GAMBLE IN GOLD 2nd SILKY WARRIOR 3rd RAZOR GANG 4th- FRAHA

The declaration of correct weight was declared to allow Jockey C McIver to view the photo. After viewing the photo both the Judge and Jockey McIver were satisfied with the placings and correct weight was declared.

At the start GAMBLE IN GOLD (A Kitson) jumped in and hampered EXALTED MOLLIE (S McCullum).

At approximately the 800m FRAHA (B Floyd) improved onto the heels of REECES COMET (T Bannon) and had to be steadied.

Trainer C Garland reported that REECES COMET would be retired.

Race 3: BMD Group Maiden Plate - 1200 metres
1st– WONDER WIZARD 2nd RICORDO 3rd RAY JOAN 4th- TURF TSAR

A pre-race vet inspection of PIED PIPER, which was resuming following a long break from racing was passed fit to start.

PIED PIPER (J Stephens) jumped awkwardly.

RAY JOAN (D Whitmore) jumped out and bumped KING TUDOR (S McCullum).

At approximately the 800m KING TUDOR shifted in slightly and tightened TURF TSAR (B Floyd) which had to be steadied.

Both FOUR EX SQUARE (D Simmons) and CORE WRITER (M Barnham) raced wide throughout.

Trainer B Trimble was asked to explain the improved performance of WONDER WIZARD. He stated that the mare had taken time to get fit this preparation and her lead up work indicated she would be competitive along with a more suitable distance.

Race 4: Jackson Painting Class B- 1200 metres
1st LA LUNE DE MIEL 2nd LITTLE HOPE 3rd RUNNING WILD 4th – ROSE OF TESSIE

Whilst in the saddling enclosure THE BOSS dislodged Jockey D Whitmore. THE BOSS was declared a late scratching at 3:18pm. Jockey Whitmore was treated by Ambulance officers and transported to hospital for observations.
Trainer J Pointon was advised that a warning be placed on THE BOSS’s pre-race manners.

Subsequent to the race, all monies invested on THE BOSS were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable.

1 cent in the dollar for the Win of LA LUNE DE MIEL
8 cents in the dollar for place of the winner LA LUNE DE MIEL
7 cents in the dollar for 2nd place LITTLE HOPE
8 cents in the dollar for 3rd place RUNNING WILD

NORDIC WARRIOR (B Floyd) was slow away.

Both NORDIC WARRIOR and RUNNING WILD (A Kitson) raced wide throughout.

Jockey Stephens reported that IMMA BE may have got its tongue over the bit. Trainer A Stephens will advise stewards of the report from the Veterinary surgeon in the coming days.


Race 5: P & J Young Concreting Open Handicap- 1200 metres
1st HUNTING LODGE 2nd DIAMOND ACE 3rd DEXTRUS 4th- INDOLLARGENCE

DEXTRUS (T Bannon) bumped GOL (A Kitson) at the start.

DEXTRUS was inclined to lay in for the majority of the event.

Approaching the 900m DEXTRUS has shifted in slightly and tightened DIAMOND ACE (S McCullum) in onto INDOLLARGENCE (S McGovern).

At approximately the 800m DEXTRUS shifted in further which resulted in FIRE HAZARD (B Floyd) being steadied.

On pulling up DEXTRUS has broken down fracturing its near fore sesamoids and was humanely euthanized.

Race 6: HOT FM Class 4 Handicap- 1300 metres
1st CALLY GREENLAKE 2nd CRAIGLEA RAWIE 3rd MISTABLISTA 4th- RANGER HILL

ZIP ZIP GIRL was declared a late scratching at 1:05pm on vets advice due to sustaining an injury whilst being transported to the course.
Trainer A Geddes was advised that a veterinary certificate must be provided prior to ZIP ZIP GIRL’s next start.

Trainer C Garland was fined $50 for failing to notify the removal of blinkers prior to the required time on RARE FIND.
