Race 1: Alicia Magee Class B Handicap- 1100 metres
1st –RUNNING WILD 2nd – GRANTLY MISS 3rd – MISS ANITORES 4th- DOUBLE YOUR BAG SYLFIDEN

TURF TSAR (App C Pye) was tightened on jumping between GINDIAN MAIN (App A Kitson) and GRANTLY MISS (C. McIver) both of which shifted ground.

Near 900 metres, GRANTLY MISS was steadied when RUNNING WILD (D.Evans) rolled in slightly..

BELLA CIELO (S. Sheargold) raced wide throughout.

Race 2: Elizabeth Baker Class 4 Handicap- 1100 metres
1st – RAHULA 2nd – MEAN MACHINE 3rd – LIBERTY TYCOON 4th – POWER TO EXCEED

During the preliminary, RAHULA collided with another horse, which resulted in D. Simmons dismounting and the horse attended to by the trainer. Jockey Simmons exhibited some pain and discomfort to his left foot, however declined to be examined by ambulance officers and fulfil his engagement.

JET HERO (App S McCullum) began awkwardly.

POWER TO EXCEED (L. Dillon) was slow into stride.

Race 3: Daman Upton Maiden Plate - 1200 metres
1st – FAIRBRAE 2nd – EDGEROI HOPE 3rd – GOIN OFF 4th – STREET CIRCUIT

DEEKAYEL (App S McCullum) was fractious in the barrier prior to the start being effected and lay on the side of the barrier and when the start was effected, this resulted in the gelding being slow to begin.

HEARTY CLANG (App B. Floyd) was slow to begin.

SYLFIDEN (App C. Pye) jumped out and tightened GOIN OFF (L. Dillon) out onto EDGEROI HOPE (S. Sheargold).

Near the 900 metres, STREET CIRCUIT (D. Evans) steadied from the heels of SYLFIDEN. At this time, DAVANNA (App A. Kitson) was eased and shifted out to avoid the heels of STREET CIRCUIT and caused EDGEROI HOPE to be taken out and race 3 wide for the remainder of the event.

FAIRBRAE (D. Simmons) raced wide throughout.

A post-race veterinary examination of HEARTY CLANG did not reveal any abnormality. A warning would be placed on the gelding regarding its performance.

Following this race, Jockey Simmons was stood down from his remaining engagements and sought medical attention at the Emerald Hospital.

Race 4: Dot Loveday Class 1 Handicap - 1300 metres
1st – NORDIC WARRIOR 2nd –BIZARRE CLARICE 3rd – ROSE OF TESSIE 4th – EDGEROI DIXIE

BIZARRE CLARICE (L. Dillon) was slow into stride.

MAZOT (App A Kitson) raced wide throughout.

From near the 100 metres, BIZARRE CLARICE shifted ground under pressure and Jockey Dillon reported he rode hands and heels to the winning post.

Race 5: Central Highlands Regional Council Class 6 Plate - 1300 metres
1st – GOD’S HAND 2nd – COCO LOCO 3rd – DOWN ANOTHER TRACK 4th – DIAMOND ACE

Jockey L. Dillon was the replacement rider for YOU LITTLE PEARLER and was permitted to ride 1/2kg overweight due to no other rider available.

DOWN ANOTHER TRACK jumped out onto GOD’S HAND (D. Evans) which was taken out on YOU LITTLE PEARLER, both of which lost some ground in this incident.

Near the 300 metres, GOD’S HAND lay in and dictated COCO LOCO inwards and caused BOLTEN ABBEY to be hampered and steadied. Jockey Evans was advised to make greater effort in similar circumstances.

Over the concluding stages, DIAMOND ACE (App C Pye) was awkwardly placed on the heels of GOD’S HAND, which continued to lay in, and shifted in and was eased from the heels of COCO LOCO which has shifted out under pressure.

Correct weight was delayed to allow Jockey S. Sheargold and Trainer D Johnston to view the available patrol film with the intention of lodging an objection against GOD’S HAND. After doing so, both parties did not wish to proceed and correct weight was declared.
Apprentice C Pye reported that she restrained DIAMOND ACE in the early stages to comply with her instructions to obtain cover behind the leaders.

The raceday vet reported that DOWN ANOTHER TRACK may have been bitten by an insect during the running of the race and was treated for swelling. Trainer G. Bell reported the gelding was recovered well on return to the stables.

ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED
