SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS

Prior to the running of Race 1, stewards were notified that CARBELLA (Race 2) had injured itself during transportation to the course. Stewards declared CARBELLA a late scratching at 12 midday.

As jockey K. Banks was ill, replacements were made as per the Stewards Raceday Summary.

Race 1: BRISBANE BUSLINES QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1460M
1st – Kalinga Ivor 2nd – Bold Act 3rd – Foinda 4th – Hey Lorenzo

ODYSSEY BELLE (M. Hughes) was slow to begin.

LADY AURA (N. Summers) jumped away awkwardly.

LITTLE DECISIONS (B. Calkin) raced wide in the early and middle stages.

Approaching the 800m FOINDA (P. Randall) and LITTLE DECISIONS made contact.

At the 250m BOLD MAL (C. Kearney) and LITTLE DECISIONS brushed.

Trainer R. Jansz reported that BOLD ACT returned to scale with a slight laceration to its offside hind leg. A veterinary examination was ordered by stewards. Trainer R. Jansz was advised that a veterinary certificate will be required before the gelding starts again.

Race 2: MITSUBISHI MOTORS MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M
1st – Silva Razz 2nd – Kindred Hope 3rd – Big Bazza 4th – Split Pin

As trainer D. Tunnah was unable to produce a veterinary certificate for NUCLEAR SUNRISE, stewards ordered the horse to be scratched at 1.15 p.m. On the announcement of correct weight, stewards ordered that all moneys invested on NUCLEAR SUNRISE be refunded, with deductions of 14 cents in the dollar on the face value of win tickets and 13 cents in the dollar on the face value of place tickets.

SPLIT PIN (J. Hoopert) was slow to begin.

SILVA RAZZ (B. Johnson) was slow to begin and jumped out making contact with QUIETEN (A. Winfield).

TEEVEE RAIDER (O. Turpin) and HASTY ROYAL (N. Summers) came together at the start.

BIG BAZZA (P. Randall) was caught wide in the early and middle stages.

CALL ME GUNYA (M. Hughes) hung out rounding the home turn.

Race 3: MATER HOSPITAL CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1200M
1st – Nostrum 2nd –Linzarni 3rd – Clarence Peak 4th – My Mandolin

As apprentice P. Randall was unable to claim his full allowance, apprentice Z. Landry was substituted as the rider of DISCOUNTING.

CHAMPAGNE LADY (B. Calkin) and POTTERS MATE (M. Hughes) made contact on jumping away.

BOLD BENNY (C. Bumstead) jumped in at the start.

SANCENOTTI (T. Huxham) began awkwardly and rolled in making contact with TINGOLION (S. Long) which was slow to begin.

DISCOUNTING (Z. Landry) raced awkwardly approaching the home turn and hung out.

Race 4: FERNVALE HOTEL CLASS 1 H’CAP – 800M
1st – Monetary Note 2nd – Sequal Boy 3rd – In A Second 4th – Kiap

As apprentice P. Randall was unable to claim his full allowance, apprentice S. Holcombe was substituted as the rider of DOWN THE LINE. A reprimanded was issued.

On jumping away EARLSTOUN FAIR (A. Winfield) and HIDE ‘N’ WATCH (O. Turpin) were tightened for room between DOWN THE LINE (S. Holcombe), which jumped out, and RIVIERA SUR MER (C. Kearney).

Approaching the 700m KALINGA GOLD (T. Huxham) was tightened for room and lost ground between DARK DOUGLAS (C. Bumstead), which received pressure from its outside, and SEQUAL BOY (M. Hughes), which rolled out. A short distance later, at the 650m, DARK DOUGLAS lost ground when tightened for room by DOWN THE LINE which was taken in by EARLSTOUN FAIR. This was as a consequence of EARLSTOUN FAIR being directed in when it received contact to its near side hind quarters by HIDE ‘N’ WATCH. EARLSTOUN FAIR continued to lay in after this for a short distance. Stewards opened an inquiry into the incident and Apprentice A. Winfield was severely reprimanded under AR. 137(a) for not showing sufficient effort to relieve the pressure to inside runners.

Apprentice T. Huxham, the rider of KALINGA GOLD, reported that he struck his knee on the barrier partition on jumping away.

Race 5: CLARENCE CORNER GET OUT STAKES MAIDEN PLATE – 800M
1st – Sha Keel 2nd – Aimup 3rd – Spandangle 4th – Midnight Dennis

ULTIMATE PASSION was declared a late scratching at 4.15 p.m. after the horse reared over during its preliminary, dislodging apprentice S. Holcombe who appeared to suffer no ill effects from the fall. On the announcement of correct weight, stewards ordered that all moneys invested on ULTIMATE PASSION be refunded, with deductions of 8 cents in the dollar on the face value of win tickets and 9 cents in the dollar on the face value of place tickets. Stewards interviewed trainer D. Gaffa regarding the racing manners of ULTIMATE PASSION and barred the horse from racing until it performs two official barrier trials.

AIMUP (O. Turpin) and COGNAC CAPER (S. Long) were slow to begin.

SI EVERO (S. Bogenhuber) jumped away awkwardly.

At the 700m OLD JUPITER (G. Clegg) rolled in, brushing SI EVERO.

At the 500m OLD JUPITER was steadied off the heels of SI EVERO which rolled out.

At the 350m AIMUP blundered and became awkward and rolled out, taking SI EVERO wider on the track. In this incident SALLYWHO (C. Kearney) was also taken wider on the track.
