Race 1: CLASS B HCAP - 800m
HEZA BIT HISSY (App T Williams), which was fractious in the enclosure, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.
RANNA'S JEWEL (App B Ainsworth) was slow to begin.
Shortly after the start, HEZA BIT HISSY had to be steadied when tightened for room between BOTH EARS (I Coombes) and FRIENDLY TRADITION (D Green).
A RARE OLD TIME (C Eaton) was held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
Near the 100m FRIENDLY TRADITION was steadied and shifted out to obtain clear running after improving onto the heels of BOTH EARS.
Race 2: MAIDEN PLATE – 1200m
Correct weight was delayed to allow T Banks to view the film to determine whether WINNING CHOICE had been afforded a fair start. After viewing the footage, T Banks was satisfied the gelding had been afforded a fair start and correct weight was declared on the judge’s placings.
WINNING CHOICE (T Banks) reared as the start was affected and lost significant ground.
MASTER KWILA (D Green) was slow to begin.
Near the 900m, TEN TORINOS (App K Y Chan) had to be steadied after improving into a narrow run to the inside of HAYIL HAVOC (I Coombes).
Near the 600m, MISS YOU JOHNNY (M O'Brien) had to be steadied when tightened for room when MASTER KWILA shifted in and away from WINNING CHOICE, which shifted in slightly. T Banks, rider of WINNING CHOICE, was issued with a reprimand for this incident.
Shortly after, MISS YOU JOHNNY had to be checked when MASTER KWILA shifted in abruptly. Trainer B Golinski was advised that a warning will be placed on the racing manners of MASTER KWILA.
FRENCH WARRIOR (App C Jokic) hung out under pressure in the home straight.
Race 3: CLASS 3 PLATE – 1200m
GIRLS ONTHE AVENUE (T Banks) was slow to muster speed.
When racing keenly near the 900m, MR ELLAVAL (D Green) improved onto the heels of ANCHORFEL (App B Ainsworth) and shifted out, bumping RELENTLESS HEART (App J Greacen).
T Banks reported that GIRLS ONTHE AVENUE hung out throughout.
I Coombes reported that MRS ASIA hung out throughout.
Race 4: MAIDEN HCAP – 1460m
Trainer G Pollock was fined $100 for the late removal of ear muffs from SOCIAL DELIGHT.
SIDESHOW SUMMER (App K Y Chan) jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
HILDESHIEM (I Coombes) shifted out shortly after the start, bumping ELUSIVE CHATEAU (App F Elliott).
SOCIAL DELIGHT (App T Williams) raced keenly in the early stages.
Near the 50m NAUTICAL LAD (D Green) had to be steadied after improving onto the heels of SMART RULER (C Kearney).
WENSLEY ROAD (M O'Brien) hung out throughout. Trainer S Essery was advised that a warning will be placed on the racing manners of WENSLEY ROAD.
Race 5: RATING 55 HCAP - 1460m
HITMAN HARRY (B Cornell) and CRAZY WAYS (I Coombes) were slow to begin.
