Race One: Cumming Produce & Marendy & Sons Class 3 H’cap

BIG CAT NAP (R Goltz) shifted in and made contact with NITROGLYCERINE (M Lister) on several occasions shortly after the start.

NITROGLYCERINE and BLACK STRIPE (C Small) were both obliged to race wide throughout.

The winner SONGCATCHER was swabbed.


Race Two: Pershouse Produce & M&D Vegetable Specialists 3yo Mdn Plate

GOLD NAT (A Raby) and LEADER MOONSHINE (App A O’Brien) were both slow to begin.

Approaching the 1000m ARROWSMITH (M Dale) shifted out forcing LEADER MOONSHINE wider on the track.

LEADER MOONSHINE was again taken wider on the track rounding the home turn by CHARRIE (M Lister), which shifted out abruptly.

The rider of MISS DARBONNAIRE, M Crawford reported that his whip became entangled in the reins near the 200m resulting in him being unable to use the whip for a remainder of the event.


Race Three: Craiglea Marr’s Burnett to the Beach Class 6 H’Cap

App X Smith was fined $100 for failing to claim his full allowance.

TOMMIX (D Gill), GARLAND PRINCE (C Kearney), SHANNON LEE (P Wolfgram) and MR. CHISTEN (App X Smith) were all slow to begin.

Approaching the first turn RAVENOUS MAKTIG SI (J Hoopert) commenced
to over-race to the inside of HEART OF LIGHT (J Warrington), EXCLAIM (R Goltz) which was following had to be steadied and shifted out taking TOMMIX wider on the track.

NORTHERN CRUSADER’s rider App C Spry lost his whip near the 400m.

GARLAND PRINCE was obliged to race wide throughout.

J Warrington, rider of HEART OF LIGHT was reminded off his obligation to ride his mount out to the finish.

The winner, EXCLAIM was swabbed.


Race Four: Pura Milk Farmers Class 1 Cup

App T Wilan was reprimanded for failing to claim his full allowance.

Prior to the running of race four CRAZY LASS (App A Ware) became fractious behind the barriers becoming entangled in the side fencing. A pre-race vet inspection failed to reveal any abnormalities and CRAZY LASS was passed fit to start.

CRAZY LASS jumped away awkwardly.

MISSILE HUNTER (M Lister) jumped in at the start resulting in BOLD EMANCIPATION (P Wolfgram) having to be steadied to avoid heels.

GYPSY TAP (M Crawford) had to be eased when placed in restricted room inside CHIEFTESS (App D Ballard) approaching the 800m.

MILADY MATTY (App J MacKinnon) was obliged to race wide throughout.

MISSILE HUNTER shifted out rounding the home turn taking CRAIGLEA LACE (App A Gain) out onto the heels of MILADY MATTY.

A post-race vet inspection of BOLD EMANCIPATION which performed poorly, failed to reveal any abnormalities.


Race Five: John Potter and the Big Orange Mdn Plate

CHIEF SEDUCER (App T Wilan) was slow to begin.

Shortly after the start CHIEF SUDUCER had to be eased off the heels of
FIRE ANT (App Z Landry), which jumped in.

Shortly after CHARICOOL (C Kearney) & FLEETING STAR (N Jolly) both had to be checked to avoid the heels of CHIEF SUDUCER which continued to shift in.
App Z Landry was severely reprimanded for allowing her mount to shift when insuffiently clear.

Approaching the 1000m FLEETING STAR commenced to race with its head in the air & race ungenerously for some distance.

J Warrington was charged with AR137a in that he permitted his mount, EVENING MAGIC, to shift in approaching the 600m mark, when insufficiently clear of MAGIC LAND (R Morris) forcing MAGIC LAND in, which resulted in SUMMER OF LOVE (App D Gay) having to check and lose its position. J Warrington was suspended for a period of 7 meetings to commence at midnight 25th October 2003 and expire at midnight 6th November 2003.
