Race 1: Memory of Desiree Gill QTIS 3yo Maiden Plate- 860m
Stewards accepted the explanation from trainer B. Gill regarding the reason TEN TO LIFE did not wear its advertised gear of a visor for today’s meeting.
The start was delayed when both SPIRIT TORQU (A. Spinks) and AMP IT UP AUSSIE (B. Ainsworth) proved difficult to load. Trainers M. Lewis (Spirit Torque) and K. Geran (Amp It Up) were advised that warnings would be placed on both horses regarding their barrier manners.
ELLE STYLE (M. O’Brien) and TEN TO LIFE (S. Apthorpe) were slow to begin.
AMP IT UP AUSSIE stood flatfooted and lost ground at the start, then commenced to hang out for the majority of the race. Trainer K. Geran was advised that a further warning would be placed on the filly regarding its racing manners.
SPIRIT TORQUE and SAGAMASTER (A. Taylor) raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 2: Gavin Linnan Finance Group Class 1 H’cap – 860m

UKOK LASS (A. Taylor), MISS TYPIN and NINETYNINE PERCENT (R. Ride) raced wide for the majority of the race.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of MISS TYPIN, N. Evans stated that due to what he felt was an awkward draw for today’s race the mare was obliged to race wide, which he believed had a bearing on the performance today, and that she compounded in the home straight. Trainer H. Richardson agreed with N. Evans’ assessment
Race 3: Lockyer Printing Maiden Plate – 1100m
D. McIntosh, rider of FALKOR, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that shortly after the start when riding his mount along he shifted in when insufficiently clear of GOOD TWO DREAM (B. Appo), which had to be restrained to avoid the heels of FALKOR. In this incident, stewards noted that BAY RUSH (B. Newport) shifted out marginally at this point. D. McIntosh was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 7 meetings, to commence at midnight, 8 December and to expire at midnight, 18 December.
Shortly after the start, EL CASHEL (M. Crawford) hung out despite the efforts of its rider, making heavy contact with STAR THOMAS (G. Geran) on 2 occasions, resulting in that horse becoming unbalanced. Trainer B. Lineburg was advised that a warning would be placed on the racing manners of EL CASHEL.
Near the 900m, DRINKINSILVERS (N. Evans) had to be steadied from the heels of EVELYN (S. Bogenhuber), which shifted out.

CAMPIONESSA (B. Appo) began awkwardly and lost ground.
After being slow to begin, MEZANCE (R. Ride) continued to lose ground, taking no real part in the race until being retired from the event leaving the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination of MEZANCE failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer P. Cox gave an undertaking to report to stewards should anything come to his attention in the following days that may have had a bearing on the mare’s performance. Mr Cox was further advised that MEZANCE must perform to the satisfaction of stewards in an official trial prior to the horse racing again.
Leaving the 900m, LOUDON (E. Wilkinson), which was overracing, had to be steadied to avoid the heels of MONDUKE (N. Evans), which shifted in. LOUDON continued to overrace for some distance and near the 800m shifted out, making contact with CAMPIONESSA, which in turn shifted out, bumping UP AND ABLAZE (S. Bogenhuber). N. Evans, rider of MONDUKE, was advised to show greater care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
CAMPIONESSA and UP AND ABLAZE raced wide for the majority of the race.
