GENERAL

Stewards concluded a matter from the Sunshine Coast Turf Club meeting on Sunday 21 January 2001 regarding M BENNETT failing to fulfil his engagement on WINGS OF SILVER in the Fillies and Mares Maiden on that particular day. After taking further evidence from the Trainer of WINGS OF SILVER, Mr D SUTTON, and M BENNETT, the Stewards found Trainer D SUTTON negligent under AR8(e) in that he declared M BENNETT as the rider of WINGS OF SILVER when he had not formally engaged him.

Stewards interviewed J POLLARD today regarding his fall from LEBERTUS at the Gold Coast Turf Club meeting on 19 August 2000. J POLLARD confirmed the stewards’ findings that were made on the day in question, that leaving the 200 metres his offside stirrup leather became detached from the saddle which in his view was the reason for him being dislodged.
