RACE 1 – e PARCEL (CLASS 2) HANDICAP – 1,200 METRES

Due to transport delays trainer G MOON presented MOON WALKER late on course. Stewards accepted Mr Moon’s explanation but nonetheless he was reprimanded and advised in future to make contact with the stewards in similar circumstances.

DANE NEWS blundered at the start.

RACE 2 – POST LOGISTICS (CLASS 3) HANDICAP – 1,400 METRES

PAY THE POET was inclined to lay in when placed under pressure over the concluding stages.

RACE 3 – POSTPAK MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1,400 METRES

LUNAR LANDING jumped away awkwardly.

A post race veterinary examination of LUNAR LANDING which compounded in the straight failed to reveal any abnormality.

RACE 4 – EXPRESS POST (FILLIES & MARES) (CLASS 1) HANDICAP – 1,300 METRES

App. M RICE was fined $50 for failing to claim his full allowance on TIMELESS IMAGE.

NORTHERN FRIENDS jumped awkwardly.

When questioned regarding the performance of MISS D’VINA, Jockey D TANTI explained that his mount raced fiercely in the early and middle stages and after being pressured rounding the home turn his mount failed to respond in the prevailing conditions which resulted in him electing to stop riding at a point from inside the 300 metres. Stewards acknowledged this explanation but D TANTI was reminded of his obligations that in all circumstances he must fully test his mounts to the finish of the race. A post race veterinary examination of MISS D’VINA failed to reveal any abnormality.

RACE 5 – AUSTRALIA POST (CLASS 5) HANDICAP – 1,200 METRES

PITCH BLACK blundered at the 800 metres.

RACE 6 – INTERNATIONAL POST (CLASS 2) HANDICAP – 1,800 METRES

Trainer C ERHART was fined the sum of $50 for failing to declare a rider for IMPOSITION by the prescribed time.

VIRGO’S MADHATTA and MISS BOUNTIFUL both shifted and made heavy contact at the start.

FORDS BRIDGE was impeded for clear running at the 600 metres until rounding the home turn.

RACE 7 – POST DIRECT (COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES) (CLASS 1) HANDICAP – 1,300 METRES

STAR OF TELESTO jumped away awkwardly and shifted in and bumped TEVROCK.

Approaching the first turn CANALETTO shifted in abruptly and had to be steadied off the heels of STAR OF TELESTO.




SEVEN WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED ALONG WITH PITCH BLACK. IN ADDITION 2 PRE RACE SWABS WERE COLLECTED.
