RACE 1 – HERITAGE FUNERALS (CLASS 4) HANDICAP – 900 METRES

After jumping away awkwardly DARTH VADER had to be steadied off the heels of PROUD MARK which shifted out.

DARTH VADER then commenced to race ungenerously in the middle stages.

Over the concluding stages ARDANT MOA was crowded when placed in restricted room between EMPEROR STAR and HEROIC PRINCE.

RACE 2 – FUNERAL PLAN MANAGEMENT MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1,400 METRES

Inside the 1,000 metres ORBITING STAR commenced to race ungenerously when being restrained and approaching the first turn shifted in and bumped MY VISION SPLENDID.

Shortly after entering the straight MY VISION SPLENDID, after initially being held up behind the heels of HUTTON and then POWER BY, shifted out near the 200 metres taking COOL COMMENT and SERIAL THRILLER wider on the track. P HAMMERSLEY (MY VISION SPLENDID) was advised to exercise care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.

RACE 3 – WES & ASHLEY HERITAGE (THREE-YEARS-OLD) MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1,800 METRES

Approaching the first turn EBONYTARI when being restrained off the heels of CARN VILLA shifted out abruptly resulting in SHADZERO having to check after being taken across the heels of CONCESSION. In this incident EBONYTARI continued to shift out and forced SHADZERO and MAID GOOD wider on the track.

DUMBARTON shifted in over the concluding stages and tightened CAPSAN on to EGYPTIAN SEAS.
Stewards intend to caution S MCLEAN (DUMBARTON) for permitting his mount to shift in.

CARN VILLA returned to the enclosure with a broken surcingle.

RACE 4 – HERITAGE BROTHERS PTY LTD (CLASS 2) HANDICAP – 2,200 METRES

APP. P HAMMERSLEY (GALACTIC GIRL) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) for permitting his mount to shift in and steady at approximately 1,500 metres when insufficiently clear resulting in EPSOM HAIGE having to be severely checked by its rider, Ms. K PURDY. P HAMMERSLEY’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 6 meetings to commence midnight 3 December 2001 and to expire midnight 11 December 2001. In issuing this penalty Stewards took into account P HAMMERSLEY’s good race riding record.
