As G Farrer was indisposed through injury the following replacement was approved:
Race 2 LITTLE CHINA D Craven
As L Cook was indisposed through illness the following replacements were approved:

Trainer J Wade was fined the sum of $100 for engaging the services of stablehand Katrina Reed who at the time was unregistered.
Stablehand S McLean was fined the sum of $50 for a breach of LR12A in that he was smoking whilst mounted on a horse at track work.

Trainer W Walker was fined the sum of $50 for advising an incorrect gear change for GOLD ROUBLE which competed in Race 8.
Trainer G Stewart was fined the sum of $100 for failing to notify a gear change for HEMAN HARRY which competed in Race 3.
RACE 1: CADBURY CONFECTIONERY H'CAP (THREE-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN) - 1110M
ETERNAL PROMISE jumped away awkwardly.
MANGO ROAD lost considerable ground at the start after jumping away awkwardly.
FINE FEATHER, YOWIE BAY and RICH MIXTURE were obliged to race wide in the early and middle stages.
SNOW PRINCE commenced to hang out rounding the first turn.
Rounding the home turn SNOW PRINCE again hung out forcing RICH MIXTURE and FINE FEATHER wider on the track. P Cuddihy reported that due to SNOW PRINCE's racing manners the bit had pulled through its mouth and as a result he was unable to ride the colt out in the straight. A veterinary examination of SNOW PRINCE revealed the colt to have sustained a laceration to the right side of the tongue. Bearing in mind the circumstances, stewards advised Trainer G Newham that a warning would be placed on SNOW PRINCE'S racing manners.
RACE 2: NESTLE PETERS 'DRUMSTICK' H'CAP (FILLIES AND MARES MAIDEN) - 1200M
Shortly after the start LITTLE CHINA, MARY JO and PRINCESS TATSUTA were crowded for room between HIGHBURY LASS and CANNY ME which shifted inwards.
Over the concluding stages MARY JO was held up and unable to improve from behind the heels of GLORIADA.
When questioned concerning the seemingly disappointing performance of HIGHBURY LASS, R Hurley stated that the mare was inclined to lay out from the 600m, although when presented with clear running in the straight, failed to respond to his riding. This explanation was noted. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.
RACE 3: AERIAL VISION H'CAP (COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES MAIDEN) - 1200M
Leaving the 1000m SWITCH TO TELEMARK commenced to race ungenerously and approaching the 900m was tightened on to JIVIN' GYM after being taken in slightly by TYCOON SHINING (M Smith-Lester). M Smith-Lester was reprimaned and advised to be fully clear when shifting ground in future.
Leaving the 900m SWITCH TO TELEMARK then shifted out abruptly across the heels of OBI WAN and crowded CARATOLOGY on to PRINCE CARTIER.
QUITE QUICK was inclined to over-race in the early and middle stages.
Rounding the 700m VENTION hung out badly and as a result was unable to be ridden out in the straight by its rider, D Green. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality. As the gelding had also proved difficuilt to load, Trainer R Spackman was advised that he must barrier trial VENTION prior to racing again.
After this race and following a request by connections, the club's veterinary surgeon examined JIVIN' GYM and found the gelding to be in a distressed state.
RACE 4: NORCO PAULS MILK H'CAP (FILLIES AND MARES CLASS 2) - 1110M
Trainer G Stewart through his stable representative was fined the sum of $50 for presenting DRAGON DELITE to the enclosure without blinkers.
LA FERAL which was injured en route to the course was declared a late scratching at 11 am.
Over the concluding stages FOREVER MAD shifted in under pressure and bumped MISS KRAMER.
RACE 5: GOLD COAST CITY CUP (CLASS 6) - 1110
ENTITY failed to negotiate the first turn and as a result shifted out and tightened PENNY LONG LASHES on to RANCHO RHYTHM.
FELIX THE MAN was obliged to race wide throughout the event.
Rounding the home turn POWER SURGE shifted out to obtain clear running and in doing so brushed FELIX THE MAN.
RACE 6: TIP TOP 'UP' H'CAP (CLASS 3) - 2015M
JUST MACCA which took charge of its rider in the preliminary was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.
COACH'S BLAST and HANGING BASKET came together at the start.
RACE 7: EXIDE TECHNOLOGY H'CAP (COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES CLASS 2) - 1110M
MR. BOYD knuckled over as the gates opened.
TIMBALE jumped in at the start and hampered PERONISTA.
Rounding the first turn the saddle on COSTELLO slipped to the side which placed its rider, P Cuddihy, at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.
Shortly after entering the straight SUPERSTAR ARIES shifted in and made contact with PERONISTA.
M Lister, the rider of INTERSTORM, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that inside the 100m whilst riding his mount along he permitted it to shift in when insufficiently clear resulting in SUPERSTAR ARIES having to be checked after being tightened on to PERONISTA. M Lister was suspended for a period of 7 meetings to commence at midnight on Thursday 11 September 2003 and expire at midnight on Wednesday 24 September 2003.
RACE 8: NATRANG UTE & TRAILER HIRE H'CAP (CLASS 1) - 1600M
As B Swanton was stood down by the club's Doctor, L Appo was replaced as the rider of SANSOLO.
CANE CUTTER jumped out at the start and crowded FASTNESS on to PUSADORO.
Rounding the first turn GOLD ROUBLE lost ground when being steadie off the heels of COLONIAL NED.
EIGHT WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
