When questioned regarding the performance of COMMON KNOWLEDGE today, Jockey D Tanti was at a loss to explain the horse's poor performance. He further stated that the horse travelled well in the early stages but when put under pressure prior to the home turn, failed to run on. A post race veterinary examination of COMMON KNOWLEDGE revealed the horse to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia. After taking evidence from stable representative Mr Mele, Mrs G Heinrich (representing App Yamazaki) and App. Yamazaki, stewards took no further action other than to advise App. Yamazaki that he must ride in a manner so as not to leave himself open to any criticism.
