RACE 1: GO GIRLS WINTER SEQUEL RACEDAY SATURDAY, 26 JUNE H'CAP - 1800M.
Trainer M. Thexton was fined $100 for failing to notify Z. Purton as the rider of CORISANDE by the prescribed time.
Approaching the 400m., FUN FOR US shifted in slightly, taking RUNYON BEAUTY in on to CORISANDE, which made contact with the running rail and became unbalanced. G. Colless, rider of FUN FOR US, was reminded of his obligations when shifting ground.
Over the concluding stages, FUN FOR US and KING LEO made contact.
RACE 2: GCTC - BECOME A MEMBER NOW! H'CAP - 900M.
Apprentice S. McDonald was fined the sm of $50 for failing to claim down to her allocated riding weight.
STREET MUSIC was slow to begin.
SHE'S SO COOL and ENVIABLE jumped away awkwardly.
THE GREAT I AM was hampered on jumping away between KALINGA TATE and NASARLO, which shifted in.
Passing the 500m., LOOK HERE TROUSERS, which was racing ungenerously, had to be steadied off the heels of NASARLO. At the same stage, MIGHTY RANGER improved to the inside of LOOK HERE TROUSERS and had to be steadied, shifted in, tightening the running of SHE'S SO COOL, which had to be steadied.
CAREBO made the home turn awkwardly and shifted out, taking SOUTHAMPTON and SURIA SHADOW wider on the track.
Stewards questioned C. Whiteley in regards to the performance of ENVIABLE. C. Whitely stated that the filly jumped away awkwardly at the start and was reluctant to go forward in the early stages of the race. He further added that, in his opinion, ENVIABLE raced greenly throughout and was unable to fully test his mount in the straight. C. Whiteley's comments were noted.
MIGHTY RANGER lost its off fore plate in running.
RACE 3: CARLTON DRAUGHT WEDNESDAY, 18 AUGUST H'CAP - 1200M.
Shortly after the start, BALRINO BOY shifted out, taking KING RUBY out on to SADLER'S RHYTHM.
Approaching the 1100m., D. Gay permitted BALRINO BOY to shift out, taking SADLER'S RHYTHM out on to PICAPLACE, which had to be steadied. D. Gay, rider of BALRINO BOY, was reprimanded and reminded of his obligations to straighten his mounts once they shift ground.
Nearing the 400m., THE HOA LONG DANCE had to be steadied off the heels of PICAPLACE.
Approaching the 100m., PICAPLACE, when attempting to take a run between SADLER'S RHYTHM and IN ORDER, had to be steadied off the heels of IN ORDER, which shifted out. G. Colless, rider of IN ORDER, was reminded of his obligations to stop riding and straight his mounts when they shifted ground.
Stewards questioned G. Osborne in regards to the improve performance of SADLER'S RHYTHM as compared to its 10th of 11, beaten 10 lengths at Ipswich on 5 May 2004. Trainer G. Osborne stated that the gelding was having its first start for him on that date and the jockey reported that SADLER'S RHYTHM had resented the whip. G. Osborne advised stewards prior to today's event that the rider was not to use the whip on the gelding as he was of the opinion that SADLER'S RHYTHM would race better using this method.
RACE 4: RACING EVERY SATURDAY IN PARADISE H'CAP - 900M.
As B. Stewart was to be overweight, Z. Purton was substituted as the rider of EPIC SKY. B. Stewart was fined $100.
COSMIC LATTE, which sustained injuries in its float en route to the course, was declared a late scratching at 10.55 a.m..
WARIALDA HONEY was slow to begin.
CAPTAIN'S WAY jumped away awkwardly.
Approaching the home turn, CAPTAIN'S WAY was held up for clear running behind ROCK HEART.
For the majority of the straight, C. Whiteley was unable to fully test CAPTAIN'S WAY due to his mount racing in restricted room between ROCK HEART and ROYAL COUNTY.
The club's veterinary surgeon reported that ROCK HEART had sustained minor abrasions to both hind legs.
RACE 5: GOLD COAST CITY CUP SATURDAY, 11 SEPTEMBER H'CAP - 1400M.
BREAKER'S WELLS knuckled on jumping away.
RACE 6: BOOK NOW! MELBOURNE CUKP TUESDAY, 2 NOVEMBER H'CAP - 1200M.
MISS SHARPSHOOTER was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon prior to the event and passed fit to start.
FOR CERTAIN was slow to begin.
Approaching the 800m., I'M A WAG commenced to race ungenerously, shifted out and had to be steadied off the heels of SUMMER OF LOVE.
Passing the 700m., LINDALAY had to be steadied off the heels of ALL THUNDER and shifted out, forcing MISS SHARPSHOOTER wider on the track.
Approaching the home turn, ALL THUNDER shifted out, forcing LINDALAY wider on the track.
Upon entering the straight, SMILS BETTER was held up for some distance for clear running behind WAVE HUNTER.
P. Hammersley was dislodged from SMILES BETTER on pulling up. P. Hammersley was examined by the club's ambulance officer and stood down from his remaining engagements and replaced as follows. Race 7. TAYLA'S GOLD - N. Day. Race 8. I'M ARCHIE - M. Bennett.
A veterinary examination of WAVE HUNTER following the event failed to reveal any abnormality.
A veterinary examination of SEA SCRIPT revealed the mare to have sustained a laceratino to the near fore knee.
The club's veterinary surgeon also reported that ELITE ELEVEN had sustained small lacerations to the off hind pastern.
K. Purdy reported that INVERMAY was showing signs of shin soreness following the event.
RACE 7: THE DOME-BOOK YOUR CHRISTMAS PARTY NOW! H'CAP - 1200M.
TAYLA'S GOLD jumped awkwardly.
Approaching the 400m., LA CHARRIERE shifted out to improve, taking RECHARIA'S GIRL out on to BINGS BLU GIRL. TAYLA'S GOLD, which was following, had to be steadied in this incident.
LA CHARRIERE and TAYLA'S GOLD were held up for clear running from the entrance to the straight until the 200m..
VIKING LADY was unable to obtain clear running for the majority of the straight.
RACE 8: DINE IN STYLE - SKYLINE RESTAURANT H'CAP - 1200M.
SUNBEAM ALPINE jumped awkwardly.
Passing the 800m., UTURN commenced to overrace and had to be steadied off the heels of TOWN WATCHER.
For some distance in the straight, SUPAROO was inclined to lay in on to VALLUGA. C. Rogers, rider of SUPAROO, was advised that when her mounts commence to shift ground, she must stop riding and straighten. MAJESTIC THEATRE, which was following, was held up for clear running for the majority of the straight.
I'M ARCHIE and STITCHED UP both had difficulty obtaining clear running in the straight.
When questioned in relation to the her tacitcs after leaving the 800m., C. Rogers, rider of SUPAROO, stated she had been instructed if possible to race the horse in a forward position, however when racing outside of VALUGA, SUPAROO was inclined to overarce and she was unable to restrain her mount.
ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
