SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:

From Doomben 27 December 2004 - Race 5 Vo Rogue Plate

Jockey C. Whiteley was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that he allowed his mount BIRTHDAY BASH to shift in when insufficiently clear of LANG PARK which had to be checked by it's rider and shifted in making contact with the hind quarters of TENDUE. TENDUE then shifted in tightening the racing room of ADMIRAL SPY which fell dislodging it's rider J. Taylor. HIT THE ROAD (B. Rawiller) and JIMIDEAN (App B. Hull) which were following were unable to avoid ADMIRAL SPY, falling dislodging their respective riders. DUKE SAM which was racing at the tail of the fall also had to be checked as a consequence. C. Whiteley's licence to ride in races was suspended for one(1) calendar month to commence Saturday 8 January 2005 up to and including 8 February 2005.



Race 1: Intervest Global 2YO Maiden H'Cap - 1200m
1st - Hardrock Diamond 2nd - Shanambah 3rd - Sacerdotee 4th - Royal Review

At the start REGINA DESERT jumped in bumping SOUND OF FREEDOM which was a little slow to move.

Near the 1150 metres SACERDOTEE ducked out sharply away from the running rail.

HARDROCK DIAMOND laid out from the 600 metres and near the 200 metres brushed SHANAMBAH.

ROYAL REVIEW was inclined to lay inwards in the straight and approaching the 150 metres bumped REGINA DESERT.



Race 2: Natural Glamour 3YO Maiden H'Cap - 1400m
1st - Cortigiana 2nd - Frottage 3rd - All Up Diamonds 4th - Mr Phoenix

OUR OASIS reared over when being led up to the stalls dislodging T. Treichel and escaping. After being recaptured OUR OASIS was re-examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon who found the filly to be sore behind and was declared unfit to race. OUR OASIS was withdrawn by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice at 1.03 p.m. Prior to the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on OUR OASIS were ordered to be refunded with deductions of 5 cents in the dollar for a win and 6 cents in the dollar for a place on the face value of the ticket.

At the start LEICA MAGIC and MR PHOENIX brushed.

MAHIMAN began awkwardly and stumbled shortly after losing ground.

KNELLER and UMAMEELA were slow to move when the gates were released losing ground.

UMAMEELA near the 900 metres when racing wide ducked out sharply.

At the 400 metres MEZZEGIE steadied from the heels of DOWN TO EARTH.

Near the 200 metres LEICA MAGIC shifted out slightly causing MEZZEGIE to ease losing ground.

DOWN TO EARTH was forced to race wide for the major part of the event and cast it's near fore plate during the race.

Jockey C. Whitelely was questioned over the apparent improved performance of CORTIGIANA as opposed to it's previous start at Doomben on 18 December 2004. Jockey C. Whitelely stated that from it's inside barrier the horse did not appreciate other horses when they moved up on the outside and commenced to lose ground. The horse was having it's first race in blinkers and from it's wide barrier the connections elected to go forward. He added that it was also a drop in class as opposed to it's only two(2) previous starts.



Race 3: Life Gold Coast Magazine Class 4 H'Cap - 1400m
1st - Rear Admiral 2nd - Tsingtao 3rd - Saucer of Milk 4th - Mrs Cee

SUPAROO bled from both nostrils during the running of the race. Trainer L. McNeil was informed that the gelding would suffer the disabilities under AR53A and would not be permitted to race for three(3) months. Specimens were taken from SUPAROO.



Race 4: Aura Magazine/Lewis Land Corporation Maiden H'Cap - 1200m
1st - Next Size Up 2nd - Melody Bay 3rd - Big Mick 4th - Capirossi

Due to a misunderstanding stewards permitted D. Tanti to replace B. Stewart as the rider of DUCARO.

At the start MISS ROSANNA and BIG FRED brushed.

Near the 800 metres BIG MICK and NEXT SIZE UP bumped.

The saddle on KAITEKI DANCING slipped near the 800 metres which placed jockey K. Pope at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race.

BIG MICK had difficulty in obtaining a clear passage from the 300 metres to the 200 metres.

Approaching the winning post CAPIROSSI eased from the heels of MELODY BAY which shifted in.

S. Katsidis the rider of NEXT SIZE UP was unable to ride his mount out when the gelding was inclined to lay inwards.

CAP D'OR cast it's off hind plate during the running of this event.



Race 5: Hinterland Mowers Class 3 H'Cap - 1800m
1st - Minoa 2nd - Ebony Lad 3rd - Phoenix Rule 4th - Endowment

As S. Galloway was indisposed due to illness stewards permitted the following rider replacements:-

Race 5 FASCINATIONS C. Brown
Race 8 SUUBIRD A. Best

Trainer C. Sinton's explanation for the late collection of his saddle was accepted.

WHEEL THE LEAD jumped awkwardly bumping the gate and ripping the right boot of jockey M. Pelling.

Near the 1550 metres OCTONE eased from the heels of QUINN and shifted out inconveniencing STAR CLANG.

Near the 1500 metres QUINN steadied from the heels of ENDOWMENT.

At the 1200 metres PHOENIX RULE which was following steadied from the heels of WITH ASTAIRE.

Shortly after making the home turn EBONY LAD which was making ground checked from the heels of ENDOWMENT which commenced to tire and shifted out bumping QUINN.

MINOA and STAR CLANG raced wide for the major part of the event.



Race 6: Emirates Airline QTIS 3YO Class 6 H'Cap - 1800m
1st - Willy Leica 2nd - Mazacar 3rd - Social Gathering 4th - Sea Drive

As J. Taylor was indisposed due to illness stewards permitted the following rider replacements:-

Race 6 TEA BISCUIT C. Brown
Race 8 BUNGER G. Baker

The start of this race was delayed as an adjustment to the pacifiers was required for TEA BISCUIT.

At the start SOCIAL GATHERING jumped out and DUKE SAM jumped in tightening WILLY LEICA and DASHING DANE.

DANE PRINCE jumped out at the start bumping JIMIDEAN onto SEA DRIVE and MAZACAR which came into contact with FINAL SIREN.

Near the 1750 metres DUKE SAM shifted out bumping TEA BISCUIT.

The off hind tape on WILLY LEICA came off near the 900 metres.

WILLY LEICA raced greenly throughout and making the home turn shifted out forcing GRAND BAZAAR wider on the track.



Race 7: Penny Ridge Resort Silk Stocking Fillies & Mares H'Cap - 1400m
1st - Au Chocolat 2nd - Star Folly 3rd - Wombalano Belle 4th - Image of Reality

PEKALAN after being placed in the barriers reared and became wedged beneath the back gates which were locked. After being released was examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon who was of the opinion that the mare was lame in the near hind. PEKALAN was withdrawn by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice at 4.15 p.m. Prior to the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on PEKALAN were ordered to be refunded with deductions of 3 cents in the dollar for a win and 4 cents in the dollar for a place on the face value of the ticket. Trainer A. Stapleford was informed that PEKALAN must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the stewards before starting again.

Near the 1100 metres DANE SHAKIRA hung in tightening SECRET GIFT onto KIND SPIRITS and CELESTIA which were all inconvenienced losing ground. The saddle on DANE SHAKIRA rolled to the near side in this incident. Trainer G. Ryan was informed that DANE SHAKIRA must compete in a satisfactory barrier trial before starting again.

ROYAL SHIRAZ raced wide in the middle stages.

Near the 600 metres BEST FRENCH shifted in slightly causing HIALEAH STAR to ease.

Approaching the 200 metres HIALEAH STAR shifted in slightly closing the run which WOMBALANO BELLE was attempting. WOMBALANO BELLE eased and shifted out across the heels of HIALEAH STAR which then laid out slightly. As a result MISS IVY checked from the heels of WOMBALANO BELLE losing ground. As the stewards could not substantiate the charge against jockey D. Beadman for careless riding under AR137(a) he was given the benefit of the doubt.

G. Farrer the rider of EXCELLENT ANN was found guilty of careless riding under AR137(a) in that he allowed his mount to shift in near the 1200 metres crowding FICTITIOUS LADY in onto AU CHOCOLAT which was forced to check off the heels of WOMBALANO BELLE. G. Farrer's permit to ride in races was suspended for a period of six (6) meetings to commence midnight 9 January, 2005 and to expire midnight 21 January, 2005.



Race 8: Lotus Institute Class 3 H'Cap - 1200m
1st - Amaizing Style 2nd - Striking Time 3rd - San Del Aquila 4th - Runobit

RADAR O'REILLY was slow to move when the gates were released losing ground.

CAPARRO and SUUBIRD jumped awkwardly.

AMAIZING STYLE jumped in bumping DIAMOND BULLET.

Near the 1100 metres ARCH LINER laid outwards forcing RUNOBIT out onto DIAMOND BULLET which eased.

SKY MOUNTAIN travelled wide in the middle stages of the event.

Near the 200 metres SPECIALLY MADE eased when SAN DEL AQUILA shifted in slightly.





ALL WINNERS PLUS SUPAROO WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED
