Stewards considered an objection lodged by D. Griffin the rider of FINDER PAGE which finished second against ADAVALE HORNET (App A. Winfield) being declared the winner on the grounds of alleged interference at the 800m. After considering the matter, taking into account where the incident took place and the margin between the horses at the finish stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that the interference suffered by FINDER PAGE at that point could warrant a reversal of placings and therefore dismissed the protest. At a subsequent inquiry App A. Winfield was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) for permitting her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of FINDER PAGE, which in turn was carried in onto AUTHORESS (D.
