SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:

As C. Whiteley failed to present a satisfactory medical clearance stewards permitted rider changes as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

Race 1: Prime Ministers Cup 3 May Maiden Plate – 900m.
1st – Never Let Go 2nd – Our Agenda 3rd – Alfie’s Boy 4th – Steel Lips

Trainer P. Strong pleaded guilty to a charge under AR140A in that he was negligent in presenting WAY TOO HOT to race without the lead bag. P. Strong was fined the sum of $500.00.

ALCARNTSPELL which broke through the barriers prior to the start being effected and galloped for some distance was declared a late scratching at 12.28 p.m. by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice. Prior to the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on ALCARNTSPELL were ordered to be refunded. All winning bets were ordered to be paid less 19 cents in the dollar for a win and 16 cents in the dollar for a place on the face value of the ticket. A post race veterinary examination of ALCARNTSPELL revealed the gelding to be lame in the off fore leg. Trainer D. Sutton will be advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness will be required before the gelding is permitted to race again.

DIVIC FIRE which broke through the gates and was quickly recaptured was examined at the barrier by the Club’s veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.

M. Nutley stable representative of MUDDY MILLIE which proved difficult to load and raced greenly throughout the event was advised that the filly would have to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to it’s next raced start. A post race veterinary examination of MUDDY MILLIE failed to reveal any abnormality.

Prior to the announcement of correct weight K. Yoshida the rider of ALZYSEE made application to stewards to have ALZYSEE declared a non-runner on the grounds that the mare had been denied a fair start. After taking evidence from K. Yoshida and trainer K. Kemp and viewing the official patrol footage stewards were satisfied that ALZYSEE was afforded every opportunity to jump away with the field and therefore declared the mare a starter.

OUTONHEROWN (W. Clasohm) and FILMAKER (H. Hamada) made contact on jumping away.

Leaving the 800m STEEL LIPS (C. Gilby) had to be steadied when tightened for room by OUR AGENDA (App B. Looker) which shifted in slightly and TWO RIVERS (App L. Dittman) which was taken out by CHIGWELL (A. Spinks) which shifted away from the heels of ALFIE’S BOY (App J. Wood).

FILMAKER raced wide throughout the event.

A post race veterinary examination of ALZYSEE failed to reveal any abnormalities.

FILMAKER lost it’s off fore plate in running.

A. Spinks the rider of CHIGWELL was fined the sum of $400.00 under the provisions of AR137(b) for failing to ride his mount out to the finishing line.


Race 2: Hyne 4YO & Up Maiden H’Cap – 1400m.
1st – First Do No Harm 2nd – Iluva Queenslander 3rd – Created 4th – Finding Neverland

CANTLEY LANE (App M. Palmer) blundered on jumping away.

UNINTENTIONAL (K. Pope) and FIRST DO NO HARM (D. Green) were both tightened for room on jumping away between ANNIE’S DUST (W. Clasohm) and ILUVA QUEENSLANDER (J. Holder) both of which shifted ground.

Rounding the 800m turn WILLIE DANSE (R. Wiggins) improved up onto the heels of ARTISTIC CURRENCY (P. Hammersley) and when being restrained shifted out taking UNINTENTIONAL and TIC TOC TIGER (C. Small) wider on the track.

GRUNGLE (T. Treichel), ILUVA QUEENSLANDER and UNINTENTIONAL raced wide for the majority of the event.

UNINTENTIONAL improved up onto the heels of GRUNGLE rounding the home turn and shifted out abruptly.

CREATED (App M. Hughes) hung in when placed under pressure in the straight.

App M. Hughes the rider of CREATED accidentally dropped his whip near the 350m.


Race 3: Termi-Nator Class 1 H’Cap = 1000m.
1st – Nude Etruscan 2nd – Pinelope 3rd – Soul Hunter 4th – Miss Cabriolet

SOUL HUNTER (R. Goltz) was tightened on jumping away between BAMER (K. Wharton) and CHECKIT (S. Galloway) which shifted in.

PARTY LINES (J. Holder) which raced wide for the majority of the event hung out rounding the home turn.


Race 4: James Hardie QTIS 3YO Class 1 H’Cap – 1200m.
1st – His Boy Elroy 2nd – Best Bid 3rd – Kryptelon 4th - Shotime

IMPULSIVEDANE (App L. Rolls) jumped out at the start and made contact with KRYPTELON (P. Hammersley).

A short distance after the start WINSTONE LOVER (L. Cheshire) commenced to lay in making contact with BEST BID (G. Palmer) on several occasions.

Near the 1100m HOWATCH (D. Tanti) had to be steadied when momentarily tightened for room by BLAZING NIGHT (App B. Looker) which was taken in by LIMERENCE (App M. Hellyer).

Leaving the 800m HOWATCH had to be steadied when tightened for room by BLAZING NIGHT (App B. Looker) when that horse was taken in by BEST BID which had commenced to overrace.

BEST BID and SHOTIME (J. Holder) raced wide for the majority of the event.

A post race veterinary examination of IMPULSIVEDANE failed to reveal any abnormality.


Race 5: Hume Doors & Timber Class 2 H’Cap – 1200m.
1st – Agnes Dream 2nd – Slugsbrothernugget 3rd – Hi Compression 4th – Chicken Bob

Trainer C. Halliday was fined the sum of $100.00 for failing to declare a rider for CUBAN DANCER by the prescribed time.

HI COMPRESSION (P. Hammersley) jumped awkwardly and made heavy contact with the hind quarters of VETTORIOUS (App L. Dittman) and lost ground.

GRON TROO (App M. Speers) was tightened for room on jumping away between CHICKEN BOB (App M. Palmer) and MAIZ SON (D. Tanti) which shifted in.

CHICKEN BOB raced ungenerously in the early stages.

Near the 700m KAYBEE (App M. Hellyer) improved up onto the heels of MT MONASHEE (N. Day) and had to be steadied.

MONTESANTOS SAINT (R. Wiggins) and CUBAN DANCER (C. Small) raced wide for the majority of the event.
Near the 100m GRON TROO (App M. Speers) had to be steadied to avoid the heels of KAYBEE which shifted out under pressure. App M. Hellyer the rider of KAYBEE was advised that he must stop and straighten his mounts when they commenced to shift ground in similar circumstances.


Race 6: Vantage Aluminium Class 4 H’Cap – 2200m.
1st – Leges Opinio 2nd – Santi 3rd – Winmara 4th – Legal Miss

Trainer D. Peoples was fined the sum of $100.00 for failing to declare a rider for STAR THEATRE by the prescribed time.

GREENFINDER (N. Day) overraced in the early stages.

GREMMO (D. Griffin) and DERRY CITY (App B. Looker) raced wide for the majority.

Approaching the turn to the back straight GREENFINDER which continued to overrace shifted out making contact with TELETOR (K. Pope) which had to be steadied when forced across the heels of KING LYPHARD (S. Galloway).

LEGAL MISS (App S. Drake) was momentarily held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

R. Bradshaw the trainer of TARIKI which bled from both nostrils during the event was advised that the horse would be barred from racing for a period of three(3) months under the provisions of AR53A.


Race 7: Mitek Open H’Cap – 900m
1st – Babinda Half 2nd – Proudly Agro 3rd – Dulacca Diva 4th – Lunch At Friscos

OCTOBER GREY (A. Pattillo) knuckled on jumping away.

Near the 500m and again near the 350m DULACCA DIVA (R. Goltz)had to be steadied off the heels of ANDURIL (K. Wharton).


Race 8: Gainsborough Hardware Class 1 H’Cap – 1400m.
1st – Revindicate 2nd – Pentacity 3rd – Gold Omega 4th – Elegant Challenger

GLOWING ROSE (R. Wiggins) blundered on jumping away.

ELEGANT CHALLENGER (J. Taylor) jumped away awkwardly.

Near the 1200m BRIDAL SHOWER (App S. Drake) was momentarily tightened for room by ECLECTUS (App L. Rolls) which was taken in by SIMIAN EXPRESS (S. Galloway).

ECLECTUS raced wide for the majority.

GOLD OMEGA (G. Palmer) raced ungenerously in the early stages.

SOZZANI (R. Golz) overraced for a short distance near the 800m turn.

PENTACITY (D. Tanti) was held up and unable to improve for a short distance approaching the 400m and was again held up for clear running for a short distance upon entering the straight.

Passing the 400m ELEGANT CHALLENGER (J. Taylor) shifted out to improve and in doing so forced ECLECTUS and BRIDAL SHOWER wider on the track.


A post race veterinary examination of SIMIAN EXPRESS failed to reveal any abnormality.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of SOZZANI jockey R. Goltz stated that he had been able to secure a position one off the fence in the early stages and the horse travelled well until a point near the 600m. R. Goltz further stated that when the pace of the race quickened passing the 600m SOZZANI was under pressure and failed to respond to his riding. A post race veterinary examination of SOZZANI failed to reveal any abnormality.
