Shortly after the start COSTPLUS (M. Bennett) was tightened for room when racing between LORD LUJAIN and COLIN’S CHOICE (C. Whiteley) which was taken out by GOODTOBETHEKING (D. Barron).

COLIN’S CHOICE raced ungenerously in the early stages of the event.

PERFECT GLASS (M. Heagney) raced wide for the majority of the event.

Leaving the 200m IN THE CLINK (App L. Dittman) had to be steadied off the heels of OFFSHORE TRADER (D. Green) which shifted in under pressure.

Leaving the 100m COSTPLUS was tightened for room when racing to the inside of EL TEMPO (App M. Hellyer) which shifted in. App M. Hellyer the rider of EL TEMPO was severely reprimanded for the incident.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of LIQUIDATE J. Bowditch advised he was at a loss to explain the poor performance as the horse had worked well leading up to today’s event. He further advised that although the horse had overraced he was concerned with the horse’s actions during the event. A post race veterinary examination of LIQUIDATE revealed the horse to be sore in the off fore leg. Trainer B. Guy’s representative was advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness must be produced before the horse again races.
