Upon return to scale a protest was lodged by C. Reith the rider of OIGLES which finished fourth against HAYLEE MISS (App L. Rolls) being declared third placegetter on the grounds of alleged interference over the final 200m of the event. After considering the matter and acting on their own observations stewards upheld the protest. In upholding the protest stewards were of the opinion that HAYLEE MISS had shifted out on at least 2 occasions over the final 200m and in doing so impeded the progress of OIGLES. Bearing in mind the short head margin between the 2 horses stewards upheld the protest and amended the placings to read:-
