SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:
Stewards today questioned former apprentice jockey James Clarke and trainer Stephen Jones regarding J. Clarke riding 2 horses trained by S. Jones in track work at the Gold Coast on 30 January 2009 when not licensed. After considering their explanations J. Clarke was fined the sum of $200.00 under the provisions of LR85(b) and S. Jones was fined the sum of $100.00 under the provisions of LR43.
Race 1: Try The Prestigious Skyline Gold Today! QTIS 2YO Maiden H’Cap – 1200m.
1st – Dusty’s Felt 2nd – Twogundan 3rd – Sequalo Revenge 4th – Pure Treasure
The start of this race was delayed as a result of PURE TREASURE proving difficult to load.
BROOKLAND (L. Cheshire) and DUSTY’S FELT (K. Yoshida) came together and bumped on jumping away. As a result BROOKLAND shifted in making contact with TWOGUNDAN (K. Forrester) and DUSTY’S FELT shifted out making contact with PURE TREASURE (M. Paget).
TWOGUNDAN was inclined to hang out rounding the home turn.
DUSTY’S FELT raced greenly over the final 300m.
Race 2: Recylers Australia 3YO & Up Maiden H’Cap – 1200m.
1st – Goldfinger 2nd – Minus One 3rd – Dubai Belle 4th – Rogues
As App S. Bogenhuber was unable to take her ride due to transport problems stewards permitted App J. Wood to be substituted as the rider of HEY PAT. App S. Bogenhuber will be required to provide verification of the mechanical problems before her next race ride.
After questioning trainer J. Morrisey regarding the late notification of rider for UNIVERSAL BRAVE stewards considered there were extenuating circumstances regarding the matter and took no further action.
MOONRAKER (M. Paget) began awkwardly.
ROGUES (R. Wiggins) and BAYSIDE (C. Small) were tightened on jumping away between UNIVERSAL BRAVE (T. Treichel) and MINUS ONE (D. Green), both of which shifted ground.
Near the 800m CIRCUMNAVIGATE (App M. Speers) improved up onto the heels of HEY PAT (App J. Wood) and shifted out forcing BAYSIDE and MINUS ONE wider on the track.
CIRCUMNAVIGATE, BAYSIDE and MINUS ONE all raced wide for the remainder of the event.
Race 3: Concept Tiles Maiden Plate – 900m.
1st – Coco Mademoiselle 2nd – Monching 3rd – Dalsqualo 4th - Geeraba
IGNITION MISS (M. Paget) was slow to begin.
GEERABA (D. Green), MONCHING (C. Small) and GIMME (App J. Wood) all began awkwardly.
DOWDEN (L. Cheshire) was tightened on jumping away between BEAUTIFUL MOON (App M. Speers) and DALSQUALO (K. Forrester) which shifted out.
Near the 800m DOWDEN was crowded for room by BEAUTIFUL MOON which shifted in. As a consequence DOWDEN was taken in onto GIMME causing in that horse to become unbalanced and shift in.
Near the 200m GIMME was tightened for room when racing between DONT TOUCH THE HAT (T. Treichel) and DOWDEN which shifted in under pressure.
BEAUTIFUL MOON lost an off hind plate in running.
GIMME sprung an off hind plate in running.
Race 4: Caelli Formwork Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 1 H’Cap – 1400m.
1st – Street By Street 2nd – Renmark 3rd – Aurelio 4th – Red Felt
No racing incidents.
Race 5: Hinterland Toyota Fillies & Mares Class 1 H’Cap – 1400m.
1st – Runjana 2nd – In Nangana 3rd – Wedding Night 4th – Glennie West
The start of this race was delayed as a result of SHESINTHEMONEY (L. Cheshire) proving difficult to load.
GLENNIE WEST (App M. Speers), WEDDING NIGHT (D. Tanti) and RUNJANA (App J. Wood) were all tightened on jumping away between SHESINTHEMONEY and SECRET TALENT (M. Paget) which shifted out.
SHESINTHEMONEY raced wide for the majority of the event.
Leaving the 200m IN NANGANA (D. Barron) had to alter course to avoid the heels of GLENNIE WEST which shifted ground under pressure.
Race 6: Quantum Trading Class 6 Plate – 2200m.
1st – La Zeel 2nd – Father Dex 3rd – Zigalong 4th - Beartracker
LEGEND OF GOKU (K. Forrester), which was fractious in the barriers, was slow to begin.
BEARTRACKER (App M. Speers) was slow to begin.
Near the 700m ZIGALONG (D. Tanti) was inclined to lay in across the hind quarters of TEAM BONDING (C. Small) and had to be steadied.
FATHER DEX (T. Treichel) was inclined to lay in between the 800m and 400m.
Race 7: Nova Press Class 4 H’Cap – 1300m.
1st – Linear 2nd – Revered Ruler 3rd – Mardi Magrar 4th – Bann Ruby
BLOODY QUICK (C. Whiteley) and SOME HOPE (N. Thomas) came together on jumping away.
REVERED RULER (L. Cheshire) and LINEAR (App J. Wood) were both inclined to shift out under pressure over the final 300m.
N. Thomas the rider of SOME HOPE was fined the sum of $100.00 under the provisions of AR137(b) for failing to ride his mount out to the finish of the event.
VARGAS GIRL lost its near fore plate in running.
Race 8: Surfers Paradise Old Boys Class 2 H’Cap – 1200m.
1st – Innocenzio 2nd – Pipers Point 3rd – Miss Cabriolet 4th – Preception Bay
PAGE NUMBER (D. Tanti) was slow to begin.
