From Gold Coast Turf Club 9 April 2011

Stewards today continued an inquiry into the riding tactics of G. Lynch on GOLDEN HUT in Race 7 at the Gold Coast Turf Club on Saturday 9 April 2011. After taking further evidence from G. Lynch and trainer R. Cole stewards found G. Lynch guilty of the contravention of AR135(b) for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to ensure GOLDEN HUT was given full opportunity to win or obtain the best position possible place in the field. The specifics of the charge were that G. Lynch attempted to take a run to the inside of MICKYDOO (T. Treichel) on the home turn when insufficient racing room existed and failed to take runs between ZYMURGY (D. Tanti) and SAVOIR FLAIR (K. Fujii) approaching the 300m and SAVOIR FLAIR and MADAME SLEEPER (D. Missen) leaving the 300m. G. Lynch was found guilty of the charges and his licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of four (4) weeks to commence midnight 29 May 2011 and expire midnight 26 June 2011.

NIABRO (App B. Looker) had a tendency to lay in when placed under pressure over the final 200m.

Stewards opened an inquiry into the riding tactics adopted on ALLTHERIGHTMOVES, particularly over the final 400m. After taking evidence from App T. Huxham and trainer L. Kelly the inquiry was adjourned until a date and time to be fixed.

Race 2: Allcoast Recycling QTIS 2YO Maiden Plate – 1200m
1st – Dorchester 2nd – Purfectress 3rd – Voodoo Black Magic 4th – Zed Man

DORCHESTER (App P. Schmidt) and AKASHIC (D. Missen) were both slow to begin.

Trainer S. O’Dea’s representative was advised that a warning would be issued for presenting MONASHEE WARRIOR in the enclosure with incorrect gear.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of MONASHEE WARRIOR jockey J.P. Stanley stated that the horse never travelled well at any stage and in his opinion failed to handle the prevailing track conditions. He further added that the horse had an increase in weight and the extra distance of 1800m may have also been a contributing factor.

When questioned regarding the riding tactics on MOLOTOV today compared to previous tactics adopted on the gelding App A. Kitson stated that the intention was to ride the horse in a forward position however MOLOTOV overraced when challenged by MONASHEE WARRIOR in the early stages and she was unable to restrain the gelding to take a trail on MONASHEE WARRIOR.
