COVER UP (C. Whiteley) jumped in the air at the start and lost ground.
Stewards questioned C. Whiteley as to the seemingly disappointing performance of COVER UP. C. Whiteley explained that approaching the home turn the horse had travelled well with cover however on straightening he elected to shift to the outside rather than pursue an inside run as he was of the opinion the going may be firmer out wider. C. Whiteley added that after shifting to the outside of the heels of FLINDERS SINGA (App B. Appo) he was forced wider when FLINDERS SINGA shifted out. C.
