RACING
RACE 1 MAIDEN HCP. 1000 METRES (7 STARTERS) BATTLESYND was slow into stride. SON OF ALEXANDRIA raced ungenerously and shifted to a position wider on the track from the 800 metres.

SON OF ALEXANDRIA continued to race wide for the remainder of the event despite attempts from jockey M. Atkinson to correct his running.

RACE 2 CLASS 6 HCP. 1000 METRES (5 STARTERS) OUR CHARIOTEER was checked and lost momentum at the start between MATT THE FIN and AL KENNY.

RACE 3 CLASS 2 HCP. 1000 METRES (7 STARTERS) SPLASH POINT and SPEEDY DON were both slow into stride. At approximately the 950 metres SPLASH POINT shifted inwards sharply and had to be straightened to avoid SPEEDY DON.

RACE 4 CLASS 4 HCP. 1194 METRES (7 STARTERS) At approximately the 1100 metres ANLON BAY shifted outwards marginally and brushed TIME TO ANSWER which in turn shifted outwards and placed pressure on MARKET WALK (NZ) and HAZY JET.

BENELITE was inclined to lay inwards from the 250 metres and had to be straightened at the 150 metres when the gelding applied pressure to GEM’S HOOD.

Apprentice Lucy Timson was reminded of her obligations to straighten her mounts when possible.

RACE 5 OPEN HCP. 850 METRES (5 STARTERS) BAY POET was slow into stride.

BOOKMAKERS: Four (4) bookmakers fielded at the race meeting.
