SUPER STROP (M. Cant) raced wide in the early and middle stages.

FRANCISIAN FRIAR (App. D. McWhinney) raced wide in the early stages.

From approximately the 300 metres to the 250 metres, SPEED LIMIT (R. Hall) was held up.

When questioned regarding performance of MONASHEE STAR, Jockey M. Barnham stated the horse travelled well in a forward position however at approximately the 400 metres began to tired and lose ground, which, in his opinion, was typical being a first-up run and over the 1194 metre distance.

Race 2: JTB Electech QTIS Maiden Plate- 1000 metres
1st - SEQUALORA 2nd – ZAHOO 3rd - CHEELAR 4th – LYONS ROYALE

There was a delayed to the start of this race due to a number of runners proving difficult to load.

CALVALE ROAD was declared a late scratching at 1.52pm when unable to be loaded into the barriers. Prior to correct weight, all monies invested on CALVALE ROAD were ordered to be refunded and all successful bets to be paid less deductions of 35 cents in the win and 22 cents in the place.
Trainer P. Pengelly was advised that CALVALE ROAD would be required to pass a barrier jump-out prior to its next race start.

CHEELAR (R. Hall) was fractious prior to the start being effected.

MAKKA PAKKA (M. Cant) stood flat-footed when the start was effected, lost ground and raced at the rear of the field.

CHEELAR, AVON LEA STAR (T. Bannon) and PENNY STERLING (D. Sparks) all raced wide throughout.

At approximately the 400 metres, LYONS ROYALE (C. Beets) was steadied from the heels of ZAHOO (App. J. Kropp) when SEQUALORA (App. D. McWhinney) shifted out slightly.

At approximately 600 metres, URGENT SEA was steadied from the heels of MINING SILVER which was tiring.

Jockey N. Patchett pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 137A(3) in that he had used his whip excessively on REVOLVA from approximately the 150 metres to the winning post. In assessing penalty, Stewards considered all relevant aspects of this incident and Jockey N. Patchett was fined $150.
