The explanation tendered by Trainer Mr B. Hudson for the late declaration of D. McWhinney as the rider for IZACHAMP, was accepted.

IZACHAMP (D. McWhinney (a)) was slow into stride.

GET DITTY WITH IT (D. Gill) hung out rounding the first turn.

INTHANON (B. Floyd (a)) raced wide throughout the event.

SEVEN MINUTES (S. Arnold (a)), was slow to begin.

ADINI (K. Gates (a)) raced wide during the early stages.

Race 3: Andy Green Builder Class 3 Plate – 1470m
1st – Stalwart Reign 2nd – Mr Magorium 3rd – Sargasso 4th – El Conde

L. Finlay the rider of SARGASSO, was found guilty of a charge of AR137A for excessively using his whip in a backhand manner on his mount from leaving the 600m to the winning post and was fined $300.

Race 4: Oz-Tac Engineering Maiden Plate – 850m
1st – Unique Fuse 2nd – Gusto 3rd – Miss Legon 4th – Out Of Character

CASANOVA COWBOY (S. Wiseman (a)) was slow to begin and finished a distant last. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

A post-race veterinary examination of MY CALENDAR GIRL revealed the mare to have sustained an injury to its off side fore leg. Trainer Mr A. Hayward advised Stewards that he would immediately retire the mare and acting on this advice, no further action was taken.

S. Arnold (a) was fined $100 acting under the provisions of AR175(k) for negligently weighing out without stirrup irons.

Race 5: Advice Partners Open H’cap – 1030m
1st – Final Crunch 2nd – Craiglea Tina 3rd – Frenardi 4th – Stalwart Emma

STALWART EMMA (D. McWhinney (a)) was slow to begin.

FRENARDI (S. Wiseman (a)) raced wide during the early stages.
