Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by L. Appo for being dual engaged on CRAIGLEA MUSTANG and MUNSTER PROVINCE. S. McGovern was declared the rider for MUNSTER PROVINCE.
MUNSTER PROVINCE (S. McGovern) was tightened on jumping away between FOMAL WINTER (I. Coombes) and MAGIC TURBO (D. Gill), which was taken out by CRAIGLEA MUSTANG (L. Appo). MUNSTER PROVINCE lost valuable ground as a result of this.
Shortly after the start CRAIGLEA MUSTANG shifted in and brushed SPIRITOFTHEDRAGON (S. Bayliss).
GRANDEUR KING (M. McKenzie) and DAME CASS (K. Gates) raced wide throughout.
Race 2: RSL Social Bowls Club Class 4 Handicap 1030m

STALWART EMMA (K. Gates) blundered on jumping away resulting in it’s rider losing her off side stirrup iron for a short distance.
NOAH’S SMILE (I. Coombes) and STALWART EMMA were tightened shortly after the start between STOCK MARKET (D. Gill) and CALARABEN (B. Derbyshire) which shifted in. Apprentice Derbyshire was advised to make greater effort to straighten her mounts in similar circumstances.
Apprentice B. Derbyshire, the rider of CALARABEN, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that approaching the home turn she allowed her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of STOCK MARKET, resulting in that runner having to be checked to avoid the heels of CALARABEN. Apprentice Derbyshire's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period covered by 6 meetings, to commence midnight 23 June 20012 and expire midnight 1 July 2012.
Race 3: RSL Snooker Club QTIS Maiden Plate 1030m
1st – Craiglea Encore 2nd- Alestelle Lady 3rd- Mako Shark 4th- Roughen
Correct weight was delayed to allow connections of the second placed runner to view the photo finish. As no photo finish was available stewards showed the connections the stewards patrol footage of the finish, which had been set up on the finish line by the judge when it was found the photo finish equipment was not working. After viewing the footage the connections were satisfied with the Judge's placings and correct weight was declared on the Judge's semaphored numbers.
JAKATAN (M. Mackenzie) reared at the start and lost ground.
FREEBAR (B. Derbyshire) blundered on jumping away.
ROUGHEN (I. Coombes) shifted in at the 900m, resulting in DON'T GET CRANKY (D. Gill) being momentarily tightened for room.
DOUBLE PLAY (S.Bayliss), ROUGHEN and FREEBAR raced wide throughout.

Race 4: Gympie RSL Sub Branch Class B Handicap 1170m

RANGER HILL (B. Derbyshire) was tightened on jumping away between AL NASSMA (M. Gray) and REMY MARTINI (I. Coombes) which was taken out at the start by WHO CARES WINS (K. Gates). As a result of this tightening, RANGER HILL had to be checked from the heels of AL NASSMA.
STRIKE A POSE (L.Finlay) commenced to buck a short distance after the start and took no further part in the event. Trainer M. Reardon was advised that STRIKE A POSE will be required to officially barrier trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to starting again.

Race 5: Gympie RSL Club Cup Open Handicap 1470m
1st – Craiglea Tina 2nd- Sir Emland 3rd- Challoman 4th- Through The Waves
Correct weight was delayed to allow stewards to view the patrol footage to ascertain whether TOY RULER (K. Gates) had been afforded a fair start. After viewing the footage it was established that TOY RULER had blundered badly on jumping away and dislodged it's rider. Stewards deemed TOY RULER to have been afforded a fair start and therefore a runner in the event, and correct weight was declared on the Judge's semaphored numbers.
K. Gates was transported to hospital for further treatment of a leg injury.
CHALLOMAN (S. Bayliss) blundered on jumping away.
SIR EMLAND (S. McGovern) began awkwardly.
BEAR'S ECHELON (L. Appo) and EL CONDE (B. Derbyshire) both raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event.
BEAR'S ECHELON was retired from the race by it's rider near the 400m when he believed that gelding had broken down. A post race veterinary examination of BEAR'S ECHELON revealed the gelding to have suffered multiple fractures of the near side foreleg radio-carpal.
