Weather: Fine Track: Fast.
RACE 1 CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1000 METRES 8 STARTERS
At the start: MISS WITTEN (S Hetherington) was difficult to load, LAGEROME (C Lennon) was fractious in the Barriers, SHODAMA (Ms C Murphy) was slow to jump. BELYANDO (B Trinder) luged badly on the home turn; the Trainer was advised that the horse would have to barrier trial before starting again. The Stewards requested a veterinary inspection by the Club Vet. UNARMED (A Molino) had to be eased off the heels of ONDAS (G Watson) at about the 600 m.
RACE 2 CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1180 METRES 10 STARTERS.
At the start: ZEPHYR BITE (R Moses) lost ground at the start. R Moses (ZEPHYR BITE) was severely reprimanded for failing to ride his mount out.
RACE 3 OPEN HANDICAP 1180 METRES 9 STARTERS
The start was delayed while alterations were made to the bridle of ZOOM CRASH OPERA. CHAMPAGNE FOLLY (C Lennon) was marginally slow away.
RACE 4 MAIDEN HANDICAP 1460 METRES 7 STARTERS
BORNEO BOY (G Cullen) stood in the stalls and refused to jump with the field, the rider was dislodged and injured. Trainer Dixon was advised that BORNEO BOY is barred from racing until the Gelding passes a satisfactory Barrier Test. Borneo Boy careered around the outside of the track, crashing through the fence at the 1180 metre start, knocking over the Stewards stand, throwing the Steward Mr D.G. Chappell to the ground. Mr. Chappell received Ambulance attention on the track.
RACE 5 CLASS 5 HANDICAP 1460 METRES 8 STARTERS
BUNI BROWN (C Lennon) was slow to jump. GEM OF DANCER (B Trinder) was fractious in the stalls and lost ground when the gates opened. No incidents in running.
All winners were sent to be swabbed.
