After the declaration of acceptances, Stewards found an error in the allotted weight of ZENDIN’ AN ANGEL. The horse was incorrectly allotted 56.5kgs when the correct weight was 55kgs. Under the term of Ar111A(4) the weight allotted to ZENDIN’ AN ANGEL was amended to 55kgs.
Trainer M.Cosgriff requested that Jockey D.Missen be permitted to ride ZENDIN’ AN ANGEL at one and a half kilograms overweight. Stewards took into account the error in the allotted weight of the horse and that Jockey Missen had accepted the ride prior to the error being found. Stewards acceded to this request.
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards asked the Judges to reconsider the official semaphored number for fourth place. After reviewing the photo finish the official placing for fourth was amended to SIX (LINDMARK STAR).
An announcer incorrectly gave the announcement of correct weight without any direction from the Stewards. This was bought to the attention of the announcer immediately.
At approximately the 200mtr mark BACK OF HOUSE (D.Andrews) attempted to obtain a run where there was insufficient racing room between ZENDIN’ AN ANGEL (D.Missen) on the inside and LINDMARK STAR (App P.Edwards) to its outside. Jockey D.Andrews was admonished and advised to show greater to care in the future and not to attempt to force a run.
