Race 1: Archer Maiden Plate 900 metres:
1st – MIRFAK 2nd – SUNNY CHIEF 3rd – SAN RAYMOND 4th – MOLONGLE DAWN

SAN RAYMOND – Slow to begin. Inclined to lay out under pressure in the straight.

SUNNY CHIEF – Race ungenerously in the early and middle stages.

FRENCH JOY – Approaching the 100m had to be steadied to avoid heels.

Race 2: Phar Lap Class 2 Handicap 900 metres:
1st – MAJORIES FAVORITE 2nd – OAKFIELD COUNT 3rd – MOONLIGHT CAFÉ 4th – LEGLESIA

ROCKETMOUNTAINHIGH – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground.

VIA CON DIOS – Jockey G Kliese reported that his mount was inclined to hang out throughout the event and proved difficult to ride.

Race 3: Makybe Diva Class 3 Plate 1180 metres:
1st – DANGAR DIVA 2nd – COURT ACTION 3rd – SIDADA 4th – TULLAGRIE PRINCE

Stewards accepted the explanation for the late declaration of T Bannon as the rider of TULLAGRIE PRINCE.

SIDADA – Was slow to begin. Carried wider rounding the home turn.

THE LIGHTWEIGHT – Was wide throughout.

LE CHAT BOTTE – Hung out rounding the home turn and carried another runner wider.

Race 4: Bart Cummings Open Handicap 1460 metres:
1st – MOB RULE 2nd – SKITTER 3rd – STAR TRUCE 4th – CARBINCONI

STAR TRUCE – Began awkwardly then raced ungenerously in the early stages.

Near the 1200m STAR TRUCE which was racing ungenerously shifted in and hampered MOB RULE. CARBINCONI which was following was hampered as a consequence.

Race 5: John Marshall Class B Handicap 1460 metres:
1st – FRUMBOLI 2nd – OUR HUSSLER 3rd – HE’S TERROR 4th – DAMKY

ADAPTED and NAGA VIPER were both late withdrawals when no riders were available.

ZAHMATA OF HONOUR – Was slow to begin then was crowded shortly after.
