ILFRACOMBE PICNIC RACE CLUB STEWARDS REPORT 25/05/2002

STEWARDS PANEL: J Wallis (Chairman), P Anderson

WEATHER – Fine TRACK – Dead (heavily watered) RAIL(from 500m only) – True

Prior to Race 1 a track inspection revealed cracking of the ground in all chutes. A close inspection revealed that large cracks were hidden by loose dirt. The course proper had been watered heavily and although dead the cracks had taken up. It was resolved by stewards that all races would be started on the course proper and the 1200 metre races would be over 1150m.. A meeting with all trainers and jockeys was conducted and they were advised of these changes. A further inspection of the main track was conducted with jockeys and they agreed that it was safe to proceed.

Race distances were altered as follows:

Race 2 1400m to about 1400m
