RAIL IN TRUE POSITION
RACE 1: MAIDEN PLATE – 1000 Metres – 7 Starters
Jockey A.Molino was admonished in that at approximately the 850mtr mark he permitted his mount BONZA BOY to shift inwards tighten the running of YOUNG AUREOLE (D.Armstrong) which in turn placed BLOW UP DOLL (App K.Penrose) in restricted room.
BLOW UP DOLL (App K.Penrose) laid inwards from the 600mtr mark.
Jockey A.Molino reported that his mount BONZA BOY jumped a section of the course proper shortly before entering the home turn.
RACE 2: OPEN HANDICAP – 1000 Metres – 7 Starters
On returning to scale Jockey P.Cullen the rider of the Second placed horse, ANOTHER DIRECTION, lodged a protest against BORROLOOLA LAD (App P.D’Addona) being declared the winner on the grounds of alleged interference at approximately the 950-900mtr marks. After consider the evidence before them Stewards upheld the protest and amended the Judges placing’s to read ANOTHER DIRECTION (1st) and BORROLOOLA LAD (2nd).
At a subsequent Stewards inquiry Apprentice P.D’Addona was found guilty to a charge of Careless Riding under the terms of Ar137(a) in that at approximately the 950mtr mark she permitted her mount to shift inwards when not sufficiently clear of WEBB’S BOY (J.Stopps) resulting in that horse being dictated inwards and took the running of ANOTHER DIRECTION (P.Cullen) which had to be checked.
Apprentice P.D’Addona’s Licence to ride in races was suspended from midnight 4th September 2004, up to and including the 10th September 20004, being a period covered by 4 NQ race meetings.
At approximately the 250mtr mark WEBB’S BOY (J.Stopps) laid inwards resulting in the rider having to stop riding and straighten his mount.
At approximately the 50mtr mark ANOTHER DIRECTION (P.Cullen) laid inwards resulting in the rider having to stop riding and straighten his mount.
RACE 3: CLASS 4 HANDICAP - 1100 Metres - 7 Starters
Stewards detected an error in the race book when checked against the official programme for the race meeting. The race book advertised this race to be a 3YO & 4YO Class 4 Class 4 Hcp, when it should have included 5YO as well as per the official programme.
At approximately the 50mtr mark CERAUNO (P.Cullen) laid in and had to be restrained from the heels of MR DONATELLO (App L.Attard)
RACE 4: CLASS B HANDICAP - 1100 Metres - 10 Starters
As the gates opened GREAT GRID (A.Cox) jumped outwards and cannoned into NEAT CURLS (App P.D’Addona).
HE’S WANTED (M.Elliott) raced awkwardly when rounding the 600mtr turn.
RACE 5: CLASS 3 PLATE - 1400 Metres - 5 Starters
No incidents in running.
